Egbin Power Generates 1000MW

Leading electricity-generating business in Nigeria, Egbin Power Plc, has reported a record-breaking 1000MW power generation peak.

According to the company’s chief executive, Mr Mokhtar Bounour, this record-breaking outcome was made possible with the help and participation of industry operators and stakeholders.

The commitment of the staff to providing exceptional performance, which has continually allowed the business to make major contributions to the power industry, was also praised by the speaker.

“This remarkable achievement recorded on Sunday, June 25, 2023, could not have been possible without the support of industry operators. It is a testament to the fact that collaboration is key to progress in the power sector.

“At Egbin Power, we have a culture of excellence deeply entrenched in our operations, and we give priority to human capital development while we pay close attention to quality maintenance of our facility, in addition to our best-in-class health, safety and environment practice.

“At Egbin Power, we will continue to deliver impactful results in the power sector, knowing fully well that electricity is crucial in driving industrial development and socio-economic growth. We remain steadfast to our goal of empowering lives and livelihoods because we are committed to our stakeholders,” Bounour explained.

He continued by saying that GenCo is dedicated to the objective of raising the plant’s capacity and persistently promoting sustainability. Egbin Power released a strategy for its Phase Two investment expansion plan last year that is anticipated to boost the national grid by up to 1,750 megawatts (MW).
