Early Life and Education
Ebuka is the third of four children born in Benin City, Edo State, to a banker father and a nurse mother. He has an elder sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. He completed his nursery and primary education in the midwestern Nigerian city of Benin, passing the Common Entrance Examination into secondary school from Primary Four. Just almost immediately, he and his family relocated to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
He then attended secondary school at Christ The King College Abuja, graduating in 1997, before continuing his education at the University of Abuja until 2004.
Ebuka then attended the Nigerian Law School Bwari in Abuja, where he graduated in 2005. Afterwards, he returned to school after a 5-year work break. Graduating in December 2010 from the American University Washington College of Law with a Master of Laws degree with specialisations in Intellectual Property and Communications law from the Law and Government programme.

Career
Ebuka was one of 14 housemates on the first season of the popular reality show, Big Brother Nigeria in 2006, finishing in eighth place. He is currently one of the most visible and successful BBN 2006 cast members. Ebuka was announced as the host of the second and third seasons of Big Brother Naija in January 2017 and even to date. He is a co-host on the currently ongoing Big Brother Naija Titans which comprises both Nigerian and South African housemates. Ebuka alongside Lawrence Maleka who is a host of Big Brother Mzansi is hosting the show.
Following the reality show in 2006, Ebuka signed endorsement deals with a major telecommunications brand and a popular brewing company. As a result, he hosted Friend or Foe on NTA, the GLO Show, also on NTA, and Guinness’ Greatness TV. In addition, he wrote a weekly column called Contrast for Nigeria’s national daily newspaper, This Day.
In the run-up to the 2011 Nigerian general elections, he hosted the first presidential debate focused on youth issues, which was broadcast live across the country.
Rubbin’ Minds, a Nigerian television talk show, announced in 2013 that Obi-Uchendu would be the new host.
Obi-Uchendu, along with Lamide Akintobi and Zainab Balogun, co-hosted The Spot, a DSTV show, in 2013. He also took over as host of Men’s Corner, Nigeria’s first all-male TV talk show, in July 2016. Before the Big Brother Naija Season 5 reunion, some fans demanded that Ebuka Obi-Uchendu step down as host. However, the majority of fans and celebrities defended the host’s performance and requested continuity.

Ebuka got engaged to Cynthia Obianodo, a human resources manager in Lagos State, on April 15, 2015. They married on February 6, 2016, in Abuja. And shortly afterwards, they welcomed their first child on; November 8, 2016. A few years later (2018), they announced their second child’s birth on Instagram.
