Drake loses $1 million on Argentina defeating France in the World Cup final

Drake, a well-known musician, lost a lot of money after betting for Argentina to beat France in the World Cup finals.

Following a 3-3 stalemate and a final score of 4-2, the Canadian superstar lost his $1 million gamble on Argentina in the last FIFA game on Sunday. The “Rich Flex” musician had made his stake in a market where extra time is disregarded and the outcome is determined based on the score after 90 minutes of play, even though Argentina finally defeated France in a shootout.

In an Instagram post that has since been removed, Drake admitted to users that he had bet on the Stakes and would have won $2.75 million if he had prevailed. Users of social media also witnessed a video of Drake showing his support for Argentina by declaring, in one scene with a friend, “I’ll pick Argentina, he’ll take France,” while sporting Napoli clothing.

Rapper Drake, who was raised in Toronto, is undoubtedly accustomed to losing bets on sporting events. Even game defeats have been linked by some to what they refer to as the Drake curse.

Drake’s prior losses: He recently suffered a significant financial loss after making bets on several athletic events. For starters, when middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was upset by Alex Pereira at UFC 281, which took place on November 12 in New York, he lost a $2 million bet on a UFC fight earlier this year.

Speculation that Drake’s wager will curse Argentina and prevent them from winning erupted on Twitter after it was revealed that Drake had backed them ahead of the crucial 2022 World Cup match.
