Popular Singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has revealed the reason why he donated the 200 Million Naira meant for his Rolls Royce to several orphanages around the country.

Recall that the singer was able to raise 201 Million Naira, after calling on several celebrities and prominent people to donate to him, so he can clear his Rolls Royce that was recently delivered at the seaport.

Davido however shocked the public after revealing that he is going to be donating the entire money raised to several orphanages around the country.

The singer also noted that he will be adding N50 million of his money, totalling the entire money it N251 million to be distributed to different orphanages.

He also set up a five-man committee to oversee the disbursement of the funds, as he promised that their activities would be made public.

The singer revealing why he is donating the money to charity said not that he is being corky, but he knows he doesn’t need the money while some people really need the money.

The singer made the revelation in a video he posted on his Instagram page, he noted that a lot of people have told him to keep the money for himself but he feels a lot of people need the money that he does

His words ”The love that people have shown me is really unbelievable. I used to question myself like ‘is being a good person even worth it’ because I remember many people be like David you are too nice, you are too free, you are too accessible, you are too this, you are too that and it got to a point where I was even thinking to myself like is this thing affecting me…but these past few days have shown me that no man..I appreciate it.

A lot of people have called me saying ‘it’s your money, keep it. Don’t listen to what people are saying. Not to be corky, The money is a lot. I wouldn’t say I don’t need it but I think there are more people who need it more than me. People were like sending me N5000, N2000, N3000, N100. This might be their last bar.

Right now we are at N201 million. I have decided to donate all the money in Nigeria. I am going to add N50 million of my own money. So that i N251 million that I am going to be disbursing”
