BIOGRAPHY OF CHRIS NASSETTA
Chris Nassetta (Christopher J. Nassetta) is an American businessman and corporate executive who is the current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hilton. Hilton is an American multinational hotel company that manages and franchises a large portfolio of hotels and resorts.
The company has the most successful brand portfolio in the industry, with 17 brands positioned at more than 5,900 properties in 114 countries and territories. Nassetta graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce with a degree in finance. Currently, he serves on the advisory board of the McIntire School of Commerce.

Nassetta joined Hilton in 2007 after leaving Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. He has worked for the company for 12 years and is the current President and Chief Executive Officer. Every evening, he is responsible for around 732,000 guests to please.
Hilton was lagging behind other hoteliers in the industry when Nassetta took over in 2007. It had to restructure not only the operations but also the culture. “People really didn’t know where we were going,” he says.
He focused on lucrative international markets – at the time only 19% of new Hilton hotels were planned overseas. He has also franchised more hotels, which is a quick way to grow the business with minimal capital investment or risk.

Nassetta was born in McLean, Fairfax County, Northern Virginia. He grew up just 10 minutes from the Hilton headquarters where he still lives. His parents never moved from their house in the locality and therefore the whole family formed a small community around the parents’ house.
Nassetta lives one kilometer from the house while her sisters are her neighbors on both sides of the house. He believes in culture and tradition, and that may be why his children attend the same high, middle, and elementary school he attended.

Nassetta is married to his wife Paige Nassetta. The two met in high school and were prom dates, although it would take another 12 years before they were married.
