Top Celebrities that Participated in the #EndSars Memorial Protest.
In October 2020, Nigerian youths took to the streets in some parts of the country to protest against the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).
In October 2020, Nigerian youths took to the streets in some parts of the country to protest against the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).
To commemorate the first anniversary of the movement, youths planned a series of activities, including protests at some strategic places across the country.
Police commands of different states including Lagos and Osun, had, however, issued statements warning youths against the protests and threatening to arrest anyone who defies the order.
Despite the government and the police warning, several youths and celebrities like Falz the Bad Guy, Mr. Macorni, etc. have turned deaf ears to the government pleas and took to the streets to mark the one-year anniversary of the movement.
Here is a list of celebrities that participated in the #Endsars Memorial Protest.
#1. Falz The Bhad guy
Rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz The Bhad Guy, joined the car procession at the #EndSARSMemorial protest at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.
The rapper was seen alongside other protesters at the tollgate with their cars were seen waving Nigerian flags from inside the vehicles and honking the horns while singing solidarity songs.
#2. Mr. Macaroni
Instagram Comedian, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, also joined the car procession at the #EndSARSMemorial protest at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.
#3. Omoyele Sowore
2019 presidential candidate and convener of the RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore led the #EndSARSMemorial protest in Abuja.
The activist alongside other protesters also sang the national anthem and urged the government to stop police brutality.
#4. Deji Adeyanju
Activist Deji Adeyanju also led the #EndSARSMemorial protest alongside Sowore in Abuja on Wednesday.
#5. Fk Abudu
Twitter influencer and Feminist, FK Abudu was also present at the car procession at the #EndSARSMemorial protest at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.
#6. Tiwa Savage
Nigerian Singer, Tiwa Savage released a protest song on the occasion, fueling the drive of the protesters.
#7. CDQ and Charly Boy
Sodiq Yusuf, a Nigerian singer better known as CDQ, and Charly Boy, the singer, also joined the protesters.
