Okposo reportedly died on Friday morning.
The condolence message was made known in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adeshina.

“President Buhari commiserates with the Christain community, particularly Okposo’s colleagues in gospel music and the younger generation, who have over the years identified with his elevating style of praise and worship.
“The president notes the unique platform of worship created by Okposo, Okposo Praise Party, his creative contributions to the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, and the inspiring roles he played in grooming talents and mentoring them to stardom.
“President Buhari prays for the repose of the musician’s soul, urging the family to find solace in his investments of love.”
Sammie Okposo started his music career as a soundtrack producer for Nollywood in 1992. He was well-known at that time in the small circle of Nollywood actors and producers.
He later began to get more career flashpoints when he started the Sammie Okposo Praise Party, a platform that brought many up-and-coming Nigerian gospel artists into the scene.
The Niger Delta-born music star was known for emboldening the gospel music scene by taking his music away from the quiet confines of the church.
He released his first album Unconditional Love in 2000.
The 51-year-old burial arrangement will be released soon, as confirmed by the Family.
