Leaders, presidents, and prime ministers are all known for using exotic vehicles beyond the reach of most common citizens. The reason for this is as a result of numerous factors such as security, functionality, and representation. As you have probably heard, many of these vehicles are equipped with advanced security features to protect the leader from potential threats. They also often serve as mobile command centers as they are equipped with sophisticated communication systems that allow the leader to stay connected with necessary governmental bodies.

Also, most presidential fleets also serve as sources of national pride and identity. These luxurious vehicles are often domestically made and so they are often used to reflect the image and status of the country. They are frequently used for ceremonial functions, official parades, and state events, creating a sense of authority and tradition. With this being said, we have compiled a list of the top 10 best presidential cars in the world.

1. The Beast – Joe Biden – President of the USA

The Presidential car of Joe Biden, the executive president of the United States, is arguably the best presidential car in the world. The car is a heavily armored Cadillac One, with advanced security features.

According to reports, the vehicle is heavily armored to withstand various forms of attack, including ballistic threats. The body is designed to provide protection against bullets, explosives, and chemical attacks. The tires are reinforced with special materials that allow the vehicle to continue driving even if the tires are punctured.

The car is also equipped with sophisticated communication systems to allow the President to remain in contact with advisors, the military, and other government officials while on the move. Other notable features include Night vision capabilities, infrared smoke grenade launchers, and satellite communication.

2. Aurus Senat Limousine – Vladimir Putin – President of Russia

The Aurus Senat Limousine is a luxury car produced by the Russian automaker Aurus. This car has gained attention as it was said to be the official presidential car of the Russian, President Vladimir Putin.

The car was built by the Russian Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI for short) and even though its specification is classified, there are reports of it being completely bulletproofed including other features such as armored plating and running on solid rubber tires.

According to reports, the Aurus Senat Limousine is designed to provide a luxurious and comfortable experience for occupants, it is believed to come with a 4.4-liter V8 hybrid producing around 600bhp.

3. Peugeot 5008 – Emmanuel Macron – President of France

Emmanuel Macron’s Peugeot 5008 takes second place among the best presidential cars in the world, mostly notable for its safety feature which is arguably second to none.

According to the report, When the French president made it known he wanted a Peugeot 5008 as his presidential car, the Peugeot team had to take one off its assembly line and build it into a modern car fit to be the president’s official state car. The car was built with “safety” as the top-most feature incorporated into it.

Collaborating with Centigon Security Group, Peugeot got the presidential 5008 lined with armor plating thereby making it both bulletproof and blast-proof. The back seat was redesigned to two and a blast-proof safe was installed for document safety during attacks

4. Mercedes-Benz S 680 – Olaf Scholz – Chancellor of Germany

The Mercedes Benz S 680 is the presidential car for the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. The Limousine is said to be bulletproof, bombproof, and flat tire-proof, taking third place among the best presidential cars.

The Car is said to have a level of security that is beyond that of “the Beast” as it has the highest level of ballistic protection for a civilian vehicle. The bodywork can withstand all manner of gunshots and explosions, including armour-piercing bullets. It can also run flat for 30km if its heavy-duty Michelin tires are shot to pieces.

The windows of this car are almost 10cm thick and the Guard comes with its own oxygen supply and automatic fire extinguisher system on board. The features push the weight of the car to a hefty 4.2 metric tons which means the chauffeur needs a truck licence to drive it. This combination of luxury and security reportedly cost €547,400.

5. Mercedes-Benz S600 – Tayyip Erdogan – President of Turkey

Following the amendment of the Turkish constitution, the office of the president of Turkey ceased to be a ceremonial post but an executive office. The incumbent office-holder, Recep Tayyip Erdogan got elected and opted for Mercedes-Benz S600 as his official car. The car which costs €480,000 is one of the best presidential cars in the world

This car is an upgraded armored version of the S600 with a reinforced body built with titanium alloy and five-inch-thick bullet-proof doors that can resist light machine gun fires. The car is completely isolated from the outside to avoid chemical attacks and uses reinforced tires with internal steel cables.

6. Mercedes-Benz S600 – Kim Jong UN – President of North Korea

The North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un joins the list of the best presidential cars with his Mercedes Benz S600 Pullman Guard, valued at about $1 million on release.

The car is a fortified variant of the Mercedes S-Class. It takes approximately a year and a half to build and deliver the Pullman after it’s been ordered. It uses a 5.5 liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine powering a five-speed-speed automatic with an output of 510 horsepower.

The Mercedez Benz Pullman Guard is bomb-resistant and uses a V12 engine similar to that of Maybach-branded Pullmans.

7. Jaguar XJ LWB Sentinel – Rishi Sunak – Prime Minister of UK

The British Prime Minister RIchi Sunak uses an Armored Jaguar XJ LWB Sentinel. The car is built by Jaguar Land Rover, a British multinational car manufacturer.

This Jaguar is a custom-built armored car fitted with a 5.0-liter V8 engine with advanced security features such as 13mm explosive-resistant steel plate flooring, bullet-proof polycarbonate hardened glass, Kevlar and titanium fortified cabins, and run-flat tires.

Thanks to these features the car is considered one of the best presidential cars in the world. For protection against biological or chemical attacks, the car is provided with self-contained oxygen.

8. Anthony Albanese – BMW 7 Series – Prime Minister of Australia

The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese drives a BMW 7 Series limousine officially – the state car is referred to as C1 and is considered one of the best presidential cars in the world.

The Australian government ensures the car is flown ahead of the Prime Minister on his state visit travels for assured protection. The car was first used by former Prime Minister Tony Abbott and then Scott Morrison The cars were originally acquired in 2014 to transport visiting dignitaries for the G20 summit in Brisbane.

Although a 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is used by former Brazil presidents on special occasions, the Ford Fusion is used more for daily commutes and other official engagements making it the more recognized state car. The car like most cars on the list is believed to be equipped with state-of-the-art security features.

The car is given a 2.7 Ecoboost Turbocharged V6 engine that does 325 hp at 5,500 rpm. It comes with a six-speed gear that shifts smoothly through a seamless continuously variable transmission (CVT) system.

10. Hongqi L5 – Xi Jinping – President of China

The Hongqi L5 is the presidential car of the Chinese Paramount leader, Xi Jinping. It is renowned for currently being the most expensive Chinese-made car ever available for purchase, at CN¥5 million Renminbi

The Hongqi Car Product was launched in 1958 and was famously used by former China leader Mao Zedong during President Nixon’s state visit in 1970 before it was dropped in the 1990s by Chinese leaders for foreign vehicles. @012 saw the return of Hongqi after Xi’s speech in favor of locally made cars for official use.

The Hongqi is 5.5 meters long, 2 meters wide, 1.5 meters high and has a wheelbase of 3.4 meters and a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 402 horsepower.
