Best Nigerian-International Music Collaborations of 2022 (So Far)
The first half of 2022 has brought some of the best experiences in the Nigerian entertainment world, including the best international collaborations so far.
Nigerian artists have been on the global scene for quite some time, thanks to collaborations with world-acclaimed singers like Beyonce and Drake.
We thought we had seen it all when Queen Bey featured a couple of Nigerian artists like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, and Wizkid on her 2019 album. However, the first six months of 2022 brought American-Nigerian and Nigerian-Canadian spice to our airwaves.
With Nigerian singer, Tems, bagging a Bet Award (which we will discuss later), Nigerians can only be hopeful of more awards and collaborations to come. While we wait to see how the next six months will turn out, RNN provides a recap of the best international collaborations of 2022 so far.

This is not the first time the Canadian singer will feature in a Nigerian song. Recall that he was also on Wizkid‘s “Essence” alongside Nigerian most recent Bet Award winner, Tems.
Omah Lay and Justin Beiber definitely caught our “Attention” with the collab.

22-year-old Nigerian superstar, Rema is another Nigerian singer with international collaboration in 2022. His love song “Time N Affection” features American singer and dancer, Chris Brown.
Brown’s magical blend with the afrobeat music is almost unbelievable and this is not a first for him. Recall that he was featured in Davido’s 2019 hit song, Blow my Mind.Â
The song peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Triller Global Chart on August 9, 2019, barely two weeks after its release. It was also nominated for Best Collaboration at the Africa Entertainment Awards USA 2020.
Skiibii ft Tory Lanez

Talented Nigerian rapper, Skiibii shocked a lot of fans with the release of Baddest Boy- (US Remix) ft Tory Lanez. After its initial release in 2021, the afrobeat song gained more prominence in January 2022 when Nigerian superstar, Davido featured in it.
Apparently, Skiibi wanted one more voice on the track and Canadian rapper, Tory Lanez fit just right in. This is one of the best international collaborations of 2022 in Nigeria.
Adekunle Gold ft Ty Dolla $ign
Release Date- February 2022
One Woman is a song on Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold’s first album in 2022. The singer featured American singer, Ty Dolla $ign on the Afrobeat/R&B/Soul song.
The chorus sees Adekunle iterate that he is a “one woman typa man” and the American singer blended so well in the song. Ty is known for his great delivery of Hip-hop/rap music and his feature on Adekunle’s song says that much.
The official video was released shortly after and has amassed over one million views on Youtube.

This one is special and we all know it. Stand Strong is way more than we bargained for! The rush of emotions, the lyrics, and most of all, the Sunday Service Choir blend are just so surreal.
Nigerian singer, Davido is known to be one of the artists responsible for putting Nigeria and Africa on the international scene. He boasts of collaborations with foreign musicians like Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, and Chris Brown.
In this new piece with Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir, Davido expresses his feelings on “the other part” of his world. See the singer’s words to his fans:
“This one is special to me. It’s different. The conception has been different. The mindset has been different. The making has been different. I know you love it when I make you dance, but now I want to make you feel… I know what I’ve experienced the past 10 years…For the first time I want to bring you into the other part of my world. The part where every day is a battle but I have no option but to STAND STRONG”.

This is another big one for Nigeria. Nigerian artist, Lojay’s 2021 hit, “Monalisa” now has Chris Brown on it. The song has amassed millions of views and streams across various digital platforms.
Their recent performance at Crystal Palace, London blew the minds of fans worldwide as the blend was magical. Chris’s dance moves were unmatched and you could tell fans were expecting his verse from the way they screamed along.
This is only one of Chris Brown’s many collaborations with Nigerian artists. The Ameican singer seems to be one of the foreign artists with the most collaborations with Nigerian musicians so far.
Future ft Drake & Tems

Finally, this is the collaboration that earned Nigerian singer, Tems, a Bet Award for Best International Act 2022.Â
American singer, Future featured the 26-year-old Nigerian artiste on his song, “Wait For You” in April and according to him, the singer’s voice is amazing on the hit.
