Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama television series adapted from the series of epic fantasy novels titled A Song of Ice and Fire written by George RR Martin and is watched by millions around the world. Its popularity since 2011 is due to the strong plot that is about dragons, white walkers and some other interesting things. In this battle for the reign of the Iron Throne, each actor tries to do their best and maintain a strong character that has their own story. Without these actors, Game of Thrones would not have made it into its eighth season which kept people in suspense for 2 years.

Below is a list of 8 cast members to watch out for in Game of Thrones . They bring their best game and do not waver in character. Game of Thrones fans agreed that despite the fact that they sometimes hate the roles they play, their acting was top-notch.

1. Emilia Clarke als Daenerys Targaryen

At the beginning of the series, we briefly saw scenes of a lady being sold by her brother to the character “Khal Drogo” to reclaim the Iron Throne. She loved the man and was referred to as “Khaleesi” and eventually became the mother of 3 dragons. After freeing several cities from slavery, she returns to Dragonstone, the ancestral home of House Targaryen, to reclaim the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Daenerys’ journey has been quite amazing and hectic, but she managed to survive and stay on top of things, only to meet a treacherous end at the hands of her lover and nephew, Jon Snow.

2. Kit Harington als Jon Snow

Kit Harington is one of the most loveable characters on the show. His role as Winterfell’s bastard, who always remains honest despite the circumstances, is one that is enjoyed by all. Rising from mere bastard status, he became the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and even came back to life after being betrayed by some of his people. He fell in love with a wildling who was killed in a battle and later formed a romantic relationship with Daenerys Targaryen who happens to be his aunt.

3. Maisie Williams as Arya Stark

Arya is one of the strongest and most likable characters in Game of Thrones . Maisie Williams started as a child actress at the age of 12 and gradually grew into a better actress that everyone loves. Arya is the rebellious younger daughter of Eddard Stark, who wants to be a soldier rather than a lady. She finally gets what she wants despite going through the hardest of times where she goes blind for a while. Arya becomes a skilled swordsman, skillfully using her thin sword, which she refers to as a needle, as a metaphor for the needles women use to embroider. Maisie’s career is thriving and her role as Arya may be just what she needed to get her career off to a great start.

4. Alfie Allen als Theon Greyjoy

At first, Theon may not have looked like Best Choice, but as the series has progressed we’ve seen more of Theon and understood why his clock is ticking and his blood pounding. Theon wasn’t just the ordinary son of Greyjoy who was adopted by the Starks. He was the one who wanted revenge on the Starks who had helped him in multiple ways and even considered him family. He was also the one who was severely tormented and had his male organ chopped off due to his poor choices. Theon was the cowardly man who couldn’t help his sister when the time came. Despite all of this, Theon develops the courage to face his worst fears. Alfie Allen played this character far better than anyone else who is eligible for the role.

5. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister

Nikolaj was Season 1’s freshly cut character who everyone knew had s*x with his twin sister and pushed a poor boy off the top of a tower and said, “The things we do for love.” The beauty of this character was how proud he was of himself and all of his accomplishments, including killing the last king whom he was tasked with protecting with his life until he lost his hand. How can a kingguard head defend with one hand? Well, there’s Ser Jaime Lannister, who pulls his twin sister closer than ever when they lost their children, and is with her even at the corpse of one. Despite his love for his sister, however, he disagrees with her wishes to fight with the White Walkers. Nikolaj played a perfect role as someone who, despite his great affection for her sister, could make informed decisions that required going against even her. It was a pleasure to watch the character development of Ser Jaime Lannister.

6. Lena Headey als Cersei Lannister

You can’t deny this woman’s talent, as shown in her role as the woman who’s always so desperate for the crown despite having no connection whatsoever to it. The actions of Cersei resulted in the deaths of her three children and she continued to live as queen, which she desperately wanted, but at the expense of her children. A woman who at a certain point decides to kill her two brothers for not supporting her cause doesn’t deserve our praise, but we can’t possibly say the series would be nothing without her. Let’s not forget that these children, two of whom sat on the throne, are a product of incest with her brother, Jaime Lannister. Despite the hatred Cersei’s character develops, the passion with which she holds her head high during events

7. Aidan Gillen as Petyr Baelish

Petyr Baelish, popularly known as Littlefinger, is one of the best actors in the series and in some ways defines the whole plot. With his ability to easily manipulate and lie to people, Petyr has been credited by some as the protagonist of the series. He was the one behind the death of Jon Arryn, the Hand of King Robert Baratheon. Petyr manipulated Arryn’s wife and Lady Stark’s sister Lysa into killing him. He loved Catelyn, d. H. Lady Stark, and helped her daughter Sansa escape from the evil King Joffrey. His true motives for his actions were never found out. Aiden Gillen had played the role of Littlefinger too brilliantly.

8. Stephen Dillane als Stannis Baratheon

Nobody likes Stannis. He was the gullible fellow responsible for his brother’s death to claim the throne. Throughout the series, his actions were dictated by the guidance he received from the Red Woman, who was always whispering in his ear. Everyone still thought he could make a good king to replace the Lannisters who had taken the throne, but then he killed his daughter and sacrificed her to the god of light. Dillane made the character interesting, sometimes liking him and sometimes loathing him. He was later murdered by the woman named Brienne of Tarth who served his younger brother.
