Aminat Yusuf to Be Placed on Salary, Sponsored Through Law School- Obaseki promises
Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has announced that the state government will reward Aminat Yusuf, the best-graduating student of the Lagos State University (LASU) Law Faculty, with a salary and sponsorship to the Nigerian Law School.
Yusuf, who hails from Edo State, graduated with a perfect 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), making her the first student in LASU’s history to achieve such a feat.
In a statement seen by The Punch, Obaseki said that the state government was “proud of Aminat Yusuf’s academic achievement” and that she was “an inspiration to all young people in Edo State.”
“We are committed to supporting her academic journey and ensuring that she has the resources she needs to succeed,” Obaseki said.
Under the state government’s plan, Yusuf will be placed on a salary equivalent to that of a State Counsel for her time at the Nigerian Law School. She will also receive a monthly allowance and all other necessary expenses.
Obaseki said that the state government’s decision to reward Yusuf was “a reflection of our commitment to excellence and our belief in the potential of our young people.”
“We are confident that Aminat will continue to achieve great things in her career,” he said.
Yusuf expressed her gratitude to the state government for the award, saying that it was “a dream come true.”
“I am honoured to be recognized by the state government for my academic achievement,” she said. “This award will give me the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer and making a difference in the world.”
In addition to the award from the Edo State government, Aminat Yusuf was also gifted N10 million by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Sanwo-Olu presented the gift during the 26th convocation ceremony of the Lagos State University, where Yusuf graduated with a perfect 5.0 CGPA.
Sanwo-Olu said that Aminat Yusuf’s academic achievement was “an inspiration to all young people in Lagos State” and that she was “a testament to the quality of education that is available in our state.” He also said that the gift was a way to “show our appreciation for her hard work and dedication.”
Aminat Yusuf expressed her gratitude to Sanwo-Olu for the award, saying that it was “a dream come true.” She said that the money would help her to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer and making a difference in the world.
