Akwa Ibom father sells only son for 400k, blames the devil
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended Gabriel Okon Ekpiri, a resident of Ekit Itam Akpan Obong community in the Itu Local Government Area of the state, for allegedly selling his nine-year-old son for the sum of N400,000.

The arrest was made by the Quick Intervention Squad of the Command. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, the suspect admitted to the crime and attributed his actions to the influence of the devil and the prevailing economic hardship in the country.
The Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusinmi, strongly condemned the act, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable.
