Ademola Adeleke dissolves all non-statutory boards in Osun
The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, mandated the immediate dissolution of all non-statutory boards in the state on Tuesday.
Olawale Rasheed, the spokeswoman for Adeleke, stated in a statement that Mr. Teslim Igbalaye, the secretary to the state government, delivered the order to the heads of ministries, departments, and agencies.
“As a follow-up to the pronouncement by Gov. Ademola Adeleke on November 27, 2022, all non-statutory Boards, Commissions, and Parastatals, including those of Tertiary Institutions (with exception of UNIOSUN), are hereby dissolved in the state forthwith.
“Consequently, all Accounting Officers of such Boards, Parastatals, and Commissions are to take charge with immediate effect,” Rasheed said.
They also disagreed on the issuance of Executive Orders and the sacking of monarchs.
While the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, accused Oyetola of employing over 12, 000 workers before vacating office, spokesperson to the former governor, Ismail Omipidan, challenged the Adeleke administration to publish the list of the 12,000 workers, saying the figure was unfounded.
It was gathered that the Oyetola administration employed 2,400 teachers in primary and post-primary schools across the state, while some contract staff was regularised across ministries and parastatals, apart from the Osun Youth Empowerment (Volunteer) Scheme.
But Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who featured on a Rave FM talk show, yesterday, said the administration has not sacked any workers nor dethroned three monarchs in the state.
