Who is Adamu Mu’azu?
Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu is a former two-term Governor of Bauchi State from 1999 to 2007. He is also a Civil Servant and Businessman.
Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu was born on the 11th of June, 1955 in Boto, Tafawa Balewa Local Government of Bauchi State, Nigeria. He had his Primary School education from 1962 to 1968. And from 1971 to 1975, he attended the Gindiri’s Boy’s Secondary School where he had a distinction in the West African School Certificate Examination (WAEC).
Thereafter, he proceeded to the School of Basic Studies at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria and bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying. Then, in 1983, he returned to school and bagged a Master of Science degree in Construction Management.
Meanwhile, Adamu Mu’azu is married to Mrs Binta Mu’azu. And together, they have nine children.

Career
Prior to becoming a Businessman, Adamu Mu’azu worked as a Civil Servant for the Kano and Bauchi Governments. He was the Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager in the Ministry of Health, Social Welfare, Youth, Sports, and Culture in Kano.
While in Bauchi, he was the property manager of the State’s Investment and Property Development Company. Later, he attended Birmingham University in the United Kingdom (UK) and bagged a second Master’s Degree in Construction Economics.
In 1999, he emerged as the 3rd Civilian Governor of Bauchi State and served two-tenure before handing over power. Unfortunately, he was indicted after his tenure and banned from holding public office for ten years by a Judicial Commission set up by his successor, Mr Isa Yuguda. He was charged for the displacement of funds of about ₦20 billion belonging to the state.
However, he denied the allegation and charges levied against him. Adamu Mu’azu allegedly fled the country when the EFCC started investigating his tenure.
In January 2014, he was elected the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). And then resigned from the position in May 2015.

- During his tenure, he empowered women by providing free tuition to the selected females, microcredit loans, and several equal employment opportunities,
- He increased primary school enrollment in the state from 438,350 to 1.3 million within 6 years,
- Increment in the production of students that pass out with credits from all Secondary schools in the state from 279 to up to 9000 in 6 years due to the provision of more basic amenities,
- In 1999, he connected 800 towns and villages in Bauchi State to the national grid from a mere 50,
- Â Also in the same year, budgetary allocation in the health sector rose from 106 million to 3.4 billion,
- Hospitals were rehabilitated and equipped,
- New hospitals were opened,
- And he constructed over 1000km of intra-state roads, 230km of urban township roads, and 69km of feeder roads.
