A Nigerian woman has accused officials linked to a Lagos State council of causing her son to miss a sports tournament, while also alleging that staff at a general hospital demanded cash payments during a separate visit.
The woman made the allegations in a video shared on X on September 1, 2026, by user @msmocrown, identified as Modupe Adeboye-Ayoroh.
Son Allegedly Missed Tournament
According to the woman, her son had been involved in racket sports and had progressed to the point of representing Lagos State and winning gold medals.
She alleged that problems surrounding selection and dealings with council officials eventually affected his participation in a tournament. She expressed frustration over what she described as actions that prevented her son from taking part in the competition despite his involvement and achievements in the sport.
The woman did not publicly identify the officials she accused or provide documents confirming the circumstances surrounding the tournament.
Hospital Staff Accused Of Demanding Cash
The woman also recounted a separate experience at a general hospital, alleging that staff insisted on cash payments while attending to her.
She described the experience as frustrating and criticised the manner in which she said patients were treated. However, the exact name of the hospital and the identities of the staff involved could not be independently established from the video.
Calls For Accountability
The woman urged Nigerians to identify public officials who frustrate government systems and document their conduct so that complaints can be directed to their superiors.
She also argued that senior officials should be held responsible where they fail to act on complaints about misconduct by people working under them.
“We need to fish out those damaging our country,” she said.
Another woman who appeared later in the video also called for people to report what she described as unacceptable conduct by public officials.
