Afrobeats star Davido has claimed he is the only billionaire’s child in the world who has successfully built an independent identity and amassed his own fortune despite being born into wealth.

The singer made the statement during an appearance on the Vibes Podcast, where he reflected on public perceptions of success and the challenges of coming from a privileged background.

‘People Love Grass-to-Grace Stories’

Davido said society is often quick to celebrate people who rise from poverty to wealth but rarely recognises those who are born into affluent families and still create successful careers for themselves.

According to him, building a personal brand and earning widespread acceptance while carrying the identity of a billionaire’s son is equally challenging.

“They love the grass-to-grace story, the young boy that was poor and became rich. But which other billionaire’s child do you know in the world, not talking about Africa, that has made a name for himself and also made a lot of money?” he said.

‘You Can’t Name One Apart From Me’

The award-winning artiste maintained that his achievements in the music industry stand on their own merit, regardless of his family’s financial status.

“You can’t count, you can’t name one apart from me,” Davido added.
