A light-hearted exchange between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Adams Oshiomhole brought laughter to the Senate chamber on Thursday after the former Edo State governor jokingly accused the presiding officer of breaching an informal peace agreement between them.

‘You Breached Our Truce’
Addressing fellow senators, Oshiomhole said he wanted to formally report that Akpabio had violated an agreement they reached to avoid further hostilities.
“I want to report to this house that the Senate President and I signed a truce of no more hostilities, and the Senate President breached the truce by reverting to previous matter. The truce stands. You should not violate it. I will not violate it,” he said.
His remarks were delivered in a humorous tone, drawing smiles from lawmakers across the chamber.
Akpabio Offers Apology
Responding immediately, Akpabio smiled and apologized to Oshiomhole over the earlier remark.
“Let me first of all apologize to Oshiomhole if whatever I said could in any way injure him or make him feel offended,” the Senate President said.
The apology was received warmly, with several senators laughing as the exchange unfolded.
