American online streamer Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, shared a humorous exchange with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The moment, captured during the streamer’s live broadcast, came as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the World Cup.
Meeting in the VIP Section
Seyi Tinubu, dressed in a Spain jersey, was seated in the VIP section alongside his children and other family members when IShowSpeed was informed of his presence.
The streamer walked over to greet the family, posed for photographs with the children and exchanged handshakes with Seyi.
“It is nice meeting you,” Seyi Tinubu told the popular YouTuber.
The meeting ended with laughter after IShowSpeed jokingly replied, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport!”
Performance at the World Cup
Earlier on Sunday, IShowSpeed performed during the tournament’s closing ceremony, opening the pre-match entertainment with his song World Cup (Champions) alongside drummers and dancers.
His appearance formed part of the entertainment lineup before kick-off of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
Return to Nigeria Still Fresh
The playful comment comes months after IShowSpeed’s visit to Nigeria during his Speed Does Africa tour.
During the trip, the 21-year-old content creator visited Lagos Island, Freedom Park and the Nike Art Gallery, while also meeting Afrobeats stars Davido and Zlatan Ibile.
He also celebrated his 21st birthday in Nigeria, where he received an enthusiastic reception from fans across the country.
