Who is Marcus Ornellas?

Marcus Almeida D’Ornellas , better known only as Marcus Ornellas, is a famous Brazilian model and actor of beings and soap operas who, thanks to his great talent and gallantry, has stood out on television in projects such as Monarca, Falsa Identidad, Rubí, La Taxista and Si nos leave. Marcus Ornellas was born on May 19, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and in 2015 he married actress Ariadne Díaz with whom he fathered his first child, Diego.

Marcus Almeida D’Ornellas, better known in the world of acting as Marcus Ornellas , came into the world on May 19, 1982 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The beginnings of his artistic career are located when at the age of 17 Marcus Ornellas  began to participate as a model in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro. Later, in 2005, he made the decision to move to Mexico for a period of 3 months, although soon after he would decide to stay in the Aztec country permanently, noticing that there were many job opportunities.

One of the first occasions in which people were able to meet  Marcus Ornellas  occurred in 2009 when he was a participant in the reality show known by the name of I want to fall in love , which revolved around two single men who were looking for a romantic relationship. , though in the end if she did find love it really wouldn’t last much longer than the fictional show lasted.

A short time later, in 2011,  Marcus Ornellas formally made his debut as an actor in the telenovela that would be known under the title Dos hogares , working under the orders of producer Emilio Larrosa, and being in charge of interpreting the character of Javier Ortega. .

Subsequently, in 2013,  Marcus Ornellas would make his appearance in the soap opera known as Libre para amarte, in which he gave life to the character of Lucas, we cannot ignore his appearance in the play that was known under the title of Cuatro equis and a year later he was part of the cast of the soap opera called Amor sin reserva , with the character of Alberto Márquez. It would be the same way this year when we could enjoy his performance in Muchacha italiana viene a casarse , a telenovela in which he was in charge of the interpretation of the character of Agustín and in which he shared credits with other acting stars such as  Livia Brito ,  Jose Ron , Maribel Guardia ,  Ela Velden , among others.

In 2015 Marcus Ornellas  participated in the soap opera known as A que no me dejas, in which he was in charge of interpreting the character of Ariel, while in 2016, he would make his appearance in Despertar contigo with the character known as Néstor Valenzuela or Imanol and by 2017 we could see him in the play that was known as A streetcar named desire , in which he gave life to the role of the character known by the name of Stanley Kowalski.

Although by then Marcus Ornellas was already managing to have more renowned roles on Mexican television , he confessed that if they closed the doors on him and he was rejected for being a model and not having to be someone focused on acting from the beginning, he commented so back then in an interview; “In my case, because I started modeling, many doors were closed for me. It has been hard for me because of that stigma, they put a label on you” However, he felt very grateful not only for Mexico but for all of its culture because it was there that he established his family together with the Mexican actress Ariadne Díaz.

Later, in 2018, Marcus Ornellas  played Porfirio Corona in the telenovela called Falsa Identidad, then others such as La taxiista and Monarca would arrive where he played Jonas, a series that was quite a challenge for him because he not only played someone bisexual but also it also had quite strong scenes; This is how the actor commented on his experience recording “Monarca”; “There are nudes, bed scenes, a threesome, I knew it was going to be something very careful with a high level, for one scene they were not going to spoil the entire series, the scenes are rarely seen and they are felt a lot when watching them, they achieved the effect they were looking for. It’s the most important project I’ve been on at the level of production, projection, Jonas’s a ‘great character’.”

Then all his effort would be rewarded when in 2018 when Marcus Ornellas turned out to be the winner at the TV Adicto Golden Awards with the category of “best male lead”, thanks to his excellent performance in The taxi driver and then in 2020 we would see him appear in the soap opera known by the name of Rubí, in charge of the interpretation of the character of Lucas Fuentes Morán.

In mid-2021,  Si nos dejan is a Mexican telenovela produced by W Studios together with Lemon Studios for Televisa in 2021, being a new version of the novel created by TV Azteca in 1997 and titled “Mirada de mujer” . The telenovela “Si nos dejan” starred Mayrín Villanueva , Marcus Ornellas and Alexis Ayala , along with Scarlet Gruberas the main antagonist and told the story of a woman entering her old age who realizes that she is not as happy as she thought despite having money and an apparently happy family, as if that were not enough, she meets a man younger than her with whom he begins a relationship that will unleash a great confrontation with his entire family. In the novel ” If they let us “ the actor Marcus Ornellas played Martín Guerra.

Regarding his participation in “If they leave us”, the actor Marcus Ornellas commented on the possible comparisons that would be made with the original version; “I understand that it is a remake and I don’t think about overcoming anything, it was a different time back then, today the direction is very different, the photography and more than overcoming we have to do our best and get the project out.”

In the soap opera ” If they leave us ” Marcus Ornellas  also shared credits with other great stars and acting figures such as; Susana Dosamantes , Gaby Spanic , Isabel Burr , Carlos Said , Isidora Vives , Álex Perea , Lore Graniewicz , Orlando Santana , Mónica Dionne , Gabriela Carrillo , Ramiro Tomasini , Ara Saldivar, among others; and although it achieved good audience levels, they were not compared to the phenomenon that was “Mirada de Mujer” which even had a sequel, although without much success.

Marcus Ornellas  in 2015 met Ariadne Díaz and after getting to know each other for a while they decided to start a love relationship, the result of which relationship the first child for both of Diego Ornellas Díaz was born.

Everything seemed to be going great in their marriage but then  Marcus Ornellas and Ariadne Díaz were criticized for letting their son wear a dress and heels to play, so the actor Marcus Ornellas spoke about it assuring that for him there was no problem that his son did that; “There are two ways to understand that attitude that Diego had when putting on his shoes. Honestly, I played with dolls, I played more with girls than with boys, I think that the problem, the evil, the malice, is in the adults, in interpreting that type of attitude, that is, in his head he is putting the mom’s clothes and it’s fine, just like he puts on dad’s shoes and there’s no problem.”

To this, Marcus added that he would never be upset to see his son wearing his wife’s clothes or playing with toys for girls, since he considers all these social categories to be something absurd, since for the boy, with the age he has, these attitudes do not mean more than a simple game, prejudices and sexual orientations are already part of the mentality and the world of adults, to which the child is alien due to his age.

In August 2018, when Ariadne’s 32nd birthday was celebrated, Marcus Ornellas decided to surprise her with the delivery of an engagement ring accompanied by a tender marriage proposal, in front of her son Diego as the main witness. Subsequently, the actor was honest in an interview with Televisa Espectáculos, that he had decided to postpone the wedding ceremony due to the current health emergency, both for him and for his wife, so they preferred to carry out the event when it was over. I could enjoy freely. This is how in his own words he put it:

“The truth is that the pandemic came to delay and move many dates for everyone, literally, for the whole world. It is a project that is on hold, for now, and yes, the plan continues, but the date is postponed since everything is accommodated again, since we can be without face masks, I think that we are going to think about it again, to put it again date.”

Later Marcus Ornellas  added that they plan to actually have two weddings: one in Mexico and another in his homeland: Brazil, both being celebrations in which he would like his parents and close relatives to be present. For Marcus Ornellas, Ariadne Díaz is the woman with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life after living in a consensual union for more than 5 years and being the parents of a beautiful child. This is how, in his own words, he expressed his love and excitement about his wedding at the time: “ I think that the wedding is like a celebration, because the ring itself does not mean that it will strengthen or weaken a relationship if you are or not married, I think the most important thing is communication and the relationship.”
