Who is Chungha?

Kim Chan Mi ,  better known only as Chungha, is a famous South Korean singer and dancer who is an exponent of K-Pop music who has achieved great musical successes such as Demente, Bicycle, Stay Tonight, Play, Dream of you, Gotta Go, among others. The K-Pop singer Chung Ha was born on February 9, 1996 in Ulsan, South Korea and is also remembered for having been part of the group, IOI, but after only a year they broke up, so she began her career in 2017. as soloist.

Beginnings in the life of Chung Ha

Kim Chan-mi, better known in the art world as Chungha , was born in Seoul, South Korea on February 9, 1996. Although at the early age of 7 her family moved to Texas, United States Joined.

The now famous singer Chung Ha has always been interested in the discipline of dance, so there was a time in her life when she was almost forced to give up this activity due to financial problems in her family. However, she insisted and convinced her parents to let her continue practicing the dance if they really trusted her.

It was thus that upon returning to his native South Korea, Chung Ha  first auditioned for YG Entertainment, then was a trainee at JYP Entertainment, and finally joined MNH Entertainment.

In 2016, Chungha was a representative of MNH Entertainment in the reality show known as Produce 101, on dates ranging from January 22 to April 1. Later, on June 10, YMC Entertainment revealed that the young Chungha would be part of a sub-unit called IOI with the aim of promoting the song “Whatta Man”.

A short time later, on September 19, the news broke that Chung Ha  would be MCing FashionN’s Please Take Care of Vanity, with artists Leetuk and Han Chae-young as partners.

After some time, he launched his own reality show to which he gave the name Chungha’s Free Month , which was made available to the public internationally through the YouTube platform, and to the Korean public through NaverTV.

This is how Chungha presented what was her second mini album titled Offset on the date of January 17, 2018. It is to our knowledge that this album contains 5 songs, including the single “Roller Coaster”. Then, on June 26, the company MNH Entertainment made the confirmation that Chungha would return on July 18 with a third mini album which was known under the title of Blooming Blue, where the song “Love U” was considered the lead single.

We cannot ignore the fact that Chungha appeared that year as an ambassador at the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival in October. In the same way, we have to mention that she was part of Station Young, a group that in turn included artists from bands such as Seulgi (belonging to Red Velvet), Soyeon (from (G) I-DLE), and SinB (member of the group GFriend). It is our knowledge that the group appeared with the song “Wow Thing”, and in particular Chungha was in collaboration with Yesung on the song “Whatcha Doin”, which was accompanied by a music video.

The following year, in 2019, dated January 2, he released the song “Gotta Go”. A little later, on January 9, Chungha was the winner of her first trophy on Show Champion , at the same time that she appeared on artist Ravi’s new single “Live”, which was released on the 18th. February.

Around that time, Chungha released her fourth EP called Flourishing , which was accompanied by the “Snapping” video. While in the month of August, Chungha joined the theme singers of the Korean drama Hotel Del Luna. It is in this way that during the month of September, Chungha added to her artistic career the songs entitled: “At the end”, “Run” (in collaboration with Grizzly) and “Fast” (in collaboration with Mommy Son) which was destined for the JTBC Seoul Marathon.

Later, Chungha made an appearance for her in “Remedy”, a song by rap artist Changmo, the same song that appeared on the album Boyhood, which was available at Christmas.

It is in this way that the year 2019 meant a great leap to fame internationally for Chungha in her artistic career; In such a way that she was awarded with the Producer of the Year Award , and also with the Hot Performance of the Year Award , all thanks to the success of the song “Gotta Go”, which was among the top positions of the Gaon Chart Music Awards.

During the past 2020, Chungha teamed up with Paul Kim on the song “Loveship,” which was released on the date of January 21. We should also point out that she was a member of the soundtrack of the Korean drama Dr. Romantic 2 with the hit single “My Love”. Other songs of equal importance were the singles from “Everybody Has”, “Lie” (in collaboration with TVXQ’s Changmin), the latter song being included in what was Changmin’s debut album called Chocolate; and of course we can’t forget the release of “Stay Tonight”.

Then came the release of the single “My Friend”, while collaborating with the Sprite soda brand with the promotional single “Be Yourself”. We cannot forget that Chung Ha  was part of the MNH New.wav project. In addition to the fact that she added to her career the singles of: “Play”, “You’re in my soul” (which was part of the soundtrack of the drama Youth Record), and “Bad boy” (in collaboration with Danish singer Christopher).

In Chungha ‘s artistic career , we must point out that in the current year 2021 she released the single called “X”, while presenting the studio album Querencia, which included the hit song “Demente” that curiously she sang in Spanish with the reggaeton  player Guaynaa .
