Who is Maribel Guardia?

Maribel Del Rocío Fernández García , better known only as Maribel Guardia, is a Costa Rican actress and singer who became famous thanks to her participation in different novels, plays and songs within the grupero genre. Maribel Guardia  was born on May 29, 1959 in San José, Costa Rica and she had a son by the late Joan Sebastian named Julián Figueroa but after separating she married her current husband Marco Chacón.

The now famous singer and actress Maribel Guardia leaned towards everything related to the arts, her first way of expressing this was through modeling and it was through her that she became famous for the first time. The first great moment in the world of show business for  Maribel Guardia occurred when she won the Miss Costa Rica beauty pageant in 1978 . This opened the doors for her to bigger modeling opportunities and she even managed to participate in the Miss Universe 1978 beauty pageant, as well as the Miss World 1978 beauty pageant. In the former, Maribel Guardia was recognized as Miss Photogenic, while, in the second, she was listed as a top 15 finalist but fell short of the crown.

Maribel Guardia  began her career in show business in Mexico in the famous soap operas from the 80s. In 1981 Maribel Guardia made her film debut in the Mexican film “There are no two like Mexico”, alongside the now deceased Vicente Fernandez.

Roles such as Seduction followed in 1986, where she played the character of Marina, a protagonist of the Mexican soap opera. In the decade that followed, the beauty starred in Prisionera de amor, Tú y yo and Serafín. Entering the new millennium, Maribel Guardia played the character of Flor del Huerto, an adult protagonist in Aventuras En El Tiempo in 2001 ; then came her portrayal of various characters in Misión SOS, To hell with the handsome, Girl at heart, A lucky family and Crown of tears, before playing a supporting role in Italian girl, as the character of Juliet Michel where she shared credits with other stars like  Marcus Ornellas ,  Ela Velden ,  José Ron , among others.

It would be in 2020 when another great opportunity would come on television as Maribel Guardia  participated in the telenovela “Te doy la vida”  playing Silvia but then Maribel Guardia dedicated herself more fully to her career as a singer in palenques and town fairs in Mexico presenting her more great musical successes such as ” Street kisses, De la Caña se hace el Güaro, I want a chacalón, How delicious are the potatoes, You were” , among others.

In 2011, after 14 years of sentimental relationship and 14 months after celebrating her civil wedding, Maribel Guardia married Marco Chacón in the Church on Thursday night. They swore eternal love in the San Cosme parish, in the Mexican capital. Among the celebrities who attended the wedding were Carmen Salinas , who said: “What can I wish for you?
