Who is Keno from Exatlón?

Eugenio Martell Cárdenas , better known as Keno Martell, is an athlete and expert in American football and Tocho Bandera who became famous in 2019 after appearing in the third season of Exatlón México. Keno was born on November 17, 1994 in Monterrey Nuevo León and in 2020 he returned to a new season of Exatlón where he would be facing the best of all previous broadcasts.

Keno Martell, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, is a high-performance athlete who has excelled in a wide variety of disciplines such as target shooting, diving, but above all within American football, managing to become champion of this sport in the Major League of 2015.

From a very young age, Keno showed a great passion for sports that he inherited from his father who was also a great athlete and since he can remember his life was dedicated to carrying out that great pleasure which he had to combine with his basic studies, obtaining a degree as an Engineer. TV Azteca announced the premiere of Exatlón in August 2019, a format and program that had been tremendously successful in several countries and for the first time would be taking place in Mexico with sports commentator Antonio Rosique  as the host of the program.

The show began with two “famous and contending” teams who would face tough physical and mental tests in order to find the best athlete and who would take not only the Exatlón title but also two million pesos. Keno Martell was selected after doing a casting to be able to enter the broadcast and from the first day he was showing that he had everything to reach the final. The program was not only successful but also became a television phenomenon that had not been on TV for a long time, and even less so on TV Azteca, so much so that the reality show lasted 6 months on the air.

In the third season of Exatlón México we met Keno Martell who from the moment he joined showed that he had everything to reach the final due to his excellent physical performance in all the tests. Keno Martell was part of the ‘Contenders’ team, a group in which he forged a great friendship but above all a great camaraderie and desire to win; His great ally was David Juárez “La Bestia” but with whom he had the bad luck of facing off in the final stretch of the competition.

Curiously, his brother Carlos Martell was also part of the Exatlón program but not within the same team since he belonged to the opposite squad although his passage was very short since he only spent a few days in the competition.

After almost six months in competitions, Keno Martell managed to reach almost the final stretch of his season, staying with a well-deserved seventh place and becoming the 31st eliminated from Exatlón México, only behind David Juárez and Christian Aguado from the team of the Contenders of which he was a part. When he returned to Mexico City he was received by a large number of fans at the airport and thanked everyone present; “Thank you very much to all the people who went to meet me at the airport, it was a great pleasure to meet you and see how you show me all that love! I wish you were able to please everyone with your photos and videos. I hope to see you again very soon! Thank you!”

He also came to comment on how difficult it was for him not to be able to reach the grand final being so close; “There were two weeks left to be among the finalists, it was hard, it was difficult, but I also think that very strong competitors remained, the level was already visible, there was no margin for error.” And he does not give it so many laps, because he confirms, about his start that “I think that whoever got tired first was going to lose, and in each of the races it was like that, and I think that in the end I got tired, physically I was exhausted, I had problems with a rib, my nose, my back gave me problems all season,” Keno said at the time .

After being part of Exatlón México, Keno Martell managed to have contracts with several brands that decided to ally with his good image so that he would make mentions within his social networks, some of them were Miller Lite, Tarapaca Wine and even with Bimbo.

At the end of 2020, the new season of Exatlón México was announced , again with Antonio Rosique as the host, however in this new season they would bring back the most outstanding participants of the first 3 seasons to make a kind of “rematch” in the that those who did not win would have a new opportunity to obtain the grand prize and those who had won such as Ernesto Cázares , Aristeo Cázares , Mati Alvarez and Heliud Pulido in the previous seasons decided to accept the invitation to return to reaffirm their victory.

In Exatlón “Titans against Heroes” the participants were divided into two teams, the first made up of Zudickey Ridriguez , Mati Alvarez , Heliud Pulido , Ana Lago , Patricio Araujo , Gloria Murillo , Aristeo Cázares , Pamela Verdirame , Patrik Loliger , Carmelita Correa , Mauricio López being the Titanes (red team) , while the Héroes team (blue team) was made up of Ernesto Cázares , Evelyn Guijarro ,Alex Campos , Stephania Gómez , David Juárez (La Bestia), Valery Carranza , Patricio Razo , Cecilia Álvarez “Cecy” , Stefano Orsini , Melissa Limones and Pascal Nadaud ; In addition, as if that were not enough, as in past seasons, throughout the competition, more participants were entering. 

At the end of October 2020 Keno Martell entered the new season of Exatlón “Titanes against Heroes” to support the blue team after they suffered a large number of casualties after losing so many competitions for survival in a row. Keno Martell entered the reality show along with Doris del Moral, both to support the blue team and to replace Patricio Razo and Jennifer Rodríguez, who at that time were the last to leave.
