Clark was born with a serious issue, or he is classified as having caudal regression syndrome, an illness that requires him to live without the use of his legs. His father and mother decided against raising him and were placed for adoption.
His biological family details have not yet been made public. When Zion was 17 years old, his foster mother Kimberli Hawkins and her husband decided to adopt him. She grew up with his two siblings, who are the children of Kimberli Hawkin.
He put a lot of effort into his youth as he dealt with several psychological abuse, malnutrition, and bullying incidents.
