On Tuesday, November 22, and Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, the Second Edition of the Zenith Tech Fair, with the theme “Future Forward 2.0,” will take place at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The fair, which was designed in the style of major international technology conferences like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and EmTech Asia, will feature cutting-edge technological advancements that touch on a variety of facets of modern life, including artificial intelligence, computing, machine learning, blockchain, robotics, big data, fintech, augmented reality, data analytics, 5G, and communication technologies, among others. Panel talks, seminars, displays, and hackathon sessions will all be part of the event.
Jim Ovia, CFR, the founder, and chairman of Zenith Bank, will give a welcoming speech at the two-day event, while Ebenezer Onyeagwu, group managing director of Zenith Bank Plc and chairman of the Body of Banks’ CEOs, Nigeria, will give the opening comments. The keynote speech will be given by Brett King, a well-known futurist, bestselling author, award-winning speaker, founder of Moven, and author of Bank 4.0. It will be titled “The Future of Banking: Digital Transformation Journey.” There will be presentations from other notable IT professionals who work for leading international brands. These consist of; Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc; Tarik Alatovic, Senior Partner, McKinsey; Juliet Ehimuan, West Africa Director, Google; Ola Williams, Country Manager, Microsoft Inc.; Andrew Uaboi, Vice President/Head, Visa West Africa; Mrs. Rakiya Mohammed, Director of Information Technology, CBN; Chris Lu, Managing Director, Huawei Technologies Nigeria.
There will be three-panel talks at the fair. Prof. Yinka David West of the Lagos Business School will moderate the first panel. Agada Apochi, the managing director of UPSL, Olu Akanmu, the managing director of Opay, Premier Oiwoh, the managing director of NIBBS, and Kari Tukur, the vice president and head of products for East and West Africa at MasterCard, will also participate.

The second panel will address the question, “What are the key obstacles to the banking sector’s digital transformation? How can we fix them? It will be chaired by Brett King and feature four panelists: Dr. Babatunde Obrimah, COO of FintechNGR; Tosin Eniolorunda, Managing Director of TeamApt; Obi Emetarom, Managing Director of Appzone; and Olugbenga Agboola, Founder/CEO of Flutterwave.
Driving the global commerce revolution with technology: Current transformation trends is the topic of the third-panel discussion. The panel, which will be moderated by Samuel Eze, founder, and CEO of Our pass, has five participants: Dr. Ozoemena Nnaji, director of trade and exchange at the CBN; Mike Ogbalu III, managing director of PAPSS; Akeem Lawal, divisional CEO of Interswitch; and Massimiliano Spalazzi, country manager of Jumia.
On November 27, 2019, at the Landmark Events Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, the inaugural Zenith Tech Fair was hosted. The fair, which was tagged “Future Forward,” included a hackathon that produced ten winners, including Octave Analytics Limited, who took home the top prize of N10 million; Neohaul Technologies, who came in the first place and won N6 million; and Required Technologies, who came in second place and won N5 million. Termii, Xcard Nigeria Limited, Payonhold, Escrow Inc, Alerzo, Nairapacket, and Qview.ai are some of the other winners who each received N1 million.
