Zack Snyder is an American producer, director and screenwriter. He got his start in the film industry through the 2004 remake of the 1978 horror film “Dawn of the Dead”. Since then, he has made several films based in particular on comic books and superheroes. His projects include films like 2006 “300”, 2009 “Watchmen” and 2017 “Justice League”, among others.

The popular director was born on March 1, 1966 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States. He was born the youngest of parents Marsha Manley and Charles Edward ‘Ed’ Snyder. His mother was a painter and photography teacher at Daycroft School and his father, an executive recruiter. He grew up a Christian Scientist with his older sister Audrey in Riverside, Connecticut.

For his studies, he attended the Heatherley School of Fine Art in England. After graduating from high school, he studied painting for a year, and side by side he already started making films. Later he joined the Art Center College of Design in California.

He had also directed the 2016 film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” which he announced at Comic-Con 2013. Additionally, in 2017 he also directed Warner Bros. 2017’s “Justice League” , then Joss Whedon replaced him during the post-production of the film because of the death of his daughter.

In mid-2016, he began work on a drama about a South American war photographer titled “The Last Photograph.” He had started work on an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s 1943 novel ‘The Fountainhead’. Moreover, he also announced that he has signed on to work on a zombie horror thriller, ‘Army of the Dead’ for Netflix.

Coming to his personal life, many of us know that he is married to Deborah Johnson. Like her husband, she is also an American producer of television commercials and feature films. The couple started dating after six years of their first meeting. Then the couple tied the knot on September 25, 2004. Their wedding took place at the Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Manhattan. Together, the couple welcomed their two biological children: Ezekiel and Jett.
