Zach McGowan is an American actor popularly known for his major role in the television comedy series. Shameless as Jody. He also acted in some great movies like Terminator Salvation , Eagle Hunt and some feature films like Dracula Untold, Crash Point and Seal Team Six. He played the character of Roan in the popular series The 100 and Captain Charles Vane in the series Black Sails. McGowan’s 2018 release includes American Wrestler .
Early life and education of Zach McGowan
Zach McGowan was born Zachary Brendan McGowan on May 5, 1980 in New York City. He is the son of Brenda McGowan and Vincent McGowan. His father is of Irish descent and his mother is Russian Jewish, so McGowan is of Irish, Russian and Jewish descent.
He grew up in New York City with his brothers. Doug McGowan and Matt McGowan. Since his mother was a United Airlines employee, they used to travel a lot. He was educated at the Fieldston School of Ethical Culture in his hometown and completed his kindergarten and higher education there.
During his school days, he captained soccer and ice hockey teams, was a member of drama and drama societies. For college, he enrolled at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and graduated with a degree in arts.
During his college days, he acted for a school production.
Zach McGowan’s career
McGowan made his acting debut in 2006 with the direct-to-video film. Eagle Hunt One as Jackson. He later appeared in an episode of the series. CSI: Miami, numbers, and Good luck Charlie.
In 2008, he even lent his voice to a puzzle video game. Boom Blox as Cowboy Beaver, and the following years voiced more games like Iron Man, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Anarchy Reigns, and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
In 2009, he was cast in a military science fiction film, Terminator Salvation alongside renowned actors Christian Bale and Sam Worthington. Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘s 1984 face cast was used via CGI, as he was serving as Governor of California at the time.
McGowan in 2012 played the role of Jody Silverman in American Comedy Drama. Shameless. She guest-starred in season 2 and became a cast regular in season 3.
He is a 6 foot tall man with a good physique and attractive appearance. McGowan is a fitness fanatic and while he was picked for Blacksail, he did 200 push-ups, 400 push-ups in four sets, 50 reverse sit-ups and 13-mile running five days a week.
