Babadee, brother of late Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan, has berated ‘fake friends’ who mourned the singer on social media but never reached out to his family or attend his memorial.
Babadee in a post shared on his Instagram story claimed that some of the friends who paid social media tribute to his late brother, Sound Sultan have not reached out to his wife since his passing in July.
According to him, the majority of people who put up photos and videos of Sound Sultan, mourning him did it for social media content and not because they care.
“Fake friends…not a call to his wife, didn’t bother to attend his memorial event on a sit at home Saturday…posting picture and video on social media, your deaths shall also be used to generate social media content”. Babadee wrote.
It has been earlier reported that the Sound Sultan passed away at the age of 44, following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma – a type of cancer that starts in the white blood cells.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as other public figure has sent their condolences concerning the death of the singer.
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity Femi Adeshina, President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Fasasi family on the death of the renowned singer.
He further noted that The President notes that the death of the singer is not only a loss to the Nigerian music industry, but to the country as a whole.
