Originally John Saviours Udomboso, Young Jonn was born in Ibadan, Oyo State. He was born into a Christian home and was said to be of Akwa Ibom descent. Young John had his basic formal education at Ideal Foundation Primary School, Ibadan and GOF College, Osogbo, Osun State. While still in high school at Osogbo, he developed interests in Basketball, Soccer, Miming and Dancing, and playing musical instruments. Afterwards, he studied Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Young Jonn began playing musical instruments as a child. He and his siblings established a band named AVG before being signed to Hit Factory Studio in 2012. He produced Olamide’s chart-topping hit “Story For The Gods” while working as a producer at Hit Factory. He was nominated for “Producer of the Year” at the 2015 Headies for his work on Olamide’s song “Bobo,” which received critical acclaim.
Young Jonn has been credited with producing songs such as Lil Kesh’s “Gbese” and “Efejoku,” Davido’s “Biggest Backside,” and album credits such as The Baddest by Davido, 2 Kings by Olamide and Phyno, and Eyan Mayweather by Olamide.
