- In July 2016, Young Buck was arrested by Tennessee police for threatening to burn down his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.
- After the IRS raided his home for non-payment of taxes in August 2010, he filed for Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
- During a home invasion in 2000, Brown was shot multiple times in Nashville. The attackers were looking for narcotics.
- In March 2012, he was the target of a drive-by shooting when attackers in white shot his SUV in Nashville. The bullets hit his vehicle 11 times, but he escaped unharmed.
- In 2005, he was arrested by authorities after he stabbed a man to kill Dr. Dre at the 2004 Vibe Awards. He did not deny after being attacked for assault.
- In August 2012, he began his 18-month sentence at Yazoo City’s low-security federal penitentiary in southern Mississippi after being found guilty of a weapons charge.
- In his youth he sold marijuana and cracked cocaine on Buchanan Street in North Nashville.
- He got his nickname after an elderly hustler asked him what a 13-year-old “young buck” was up to on the street selling dope.
