Yoo was born on August 14 , 1972 in Seoul, capital of South Korea. He is the first born in the family and has 2 siblings, both sisters. He grew up in a middle-class family that had high hopes for him. But Yoo on the other hand went the unconventional route after risking everything to enroll at the Seoul Institute of the Arts.Since his early days, he had an artistic bent and he began to take an interest in comedy in high school. Yoo even had a few comedy routines as a kid and showed them to his family and classmates.
When Yoo was in middle school, he started acting more, and the KBS Comedian Festival in 1991 was just the perfect platform for him. It was life changing for him; her performance was televised and widely appreciated by audiences and producers.
