Before she became the managing director of First City Monument Bank, Yemisi began her career with a job at Akintola Williams Deloitte (member firm of Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu) in 1987. She focused mainly on Corporate Finance activities while working at the firm.

She also audited Banks and other institutions during the course of her career as financial personnel. the MD joined the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in the year 2000 and worked as the Divisional Head of Internal Audit and Control. Not long after assuming the position, she moved on to become the Chief Financial Officer of the Bank.
