Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Yemi Alade sold out the 2,000 + capacity Olympia Hall in Paris and thrilled the audience with numerous hit songs. The show took place on Sunday, 6th November 2022, and is considered a huge milestone as only a few afrobeat stars like Rema, Burna Boy, and Ckay has been able to establish a huge footprint in the country’s music scene.

Yemi Alade emerged in the mainstream of Nigerian music in 2013 and has gone on to establish herself as one of the biggest female music stars in the industry. The award-winning singer is one of Africa’s biggest music exports with her music finding an audience across the continent and beyond. Her latest show is not her first exploit in France. Yemi Alade began her musical exploit by releasing her debut album King of Queens on 2 October 2014, and the album produced her most successful single Johnny. In 2016, She released her second album titled Mama Africa which produced singles like “Na Gode”, “TumBum” and “Ferrari”.

Following the success of her first studio album, Yemi Alade won the MTV African Music Awards for Best Female in 2015 and 2016 consecutively and was nominated for Artiste of the Year in 2015.  In 2015, She became the first African female to be nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) and She was nominated for the BET awards for Best International Act: Africa in 2015 and 2016.

Yemi Alade is also applauded for her creative and overwhelming stage performances, fashion, and music videos, She has won The Headies Award for Best Performer twice, in 2018 and 2019. She is the first Nigerian Female Artist to hit 100 million views for a single video on YouTube. She also has the record for the most viewed female African music video and is the first Nigerian female artist to hit 1 million views on YouTube in 24 hours.
