YBN Cordae is an American rapper and songwriter, known for 3 of his mixtapes – Fear , released in 2014, I’m so worried from 2016 and I’m so anonymous from 2017. After starting to take rapping seriously in early 2018, decided he decided to devote himself to music as he was already a member of YBN (Young Boss N*ggaz) music collective since 2017 which was formed by YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay in 2014. He released a remix of Eminem’s 1999 song My Name is on WorldStarHipHop YouTube channel on May 11, 2018. The remix brought him wider exposure, and other songs, like the Diss track Old N*ggas , quickly followedin response to rapper J. Cole.

He also released Fighting Temptations in January 2018 and Kung Fu , a July 2018 song and music video that skyrocketed his hip-hop career. In August 2018, he collaborated with YBN Nahmir on the Pain Gone single, after which they released a mixtape titled YBN: Mixtape on September 7, 2018. Cordae also released his solo single titled Scotty Pippen on August 23, 2018 as well as Mercy you on March 7, 2019, who quickly garnered a lot of praise from multiple online publications, such as Spotify and UPROXX Hip-Hop .

1. He was born in Raleigh, North Caroline but moved to Suitland, Maryland when he was 10 years old.
2. YBN Cordae was interested in music from a young age as his father was fond of hip hop artists like Nas, Rakim, Talib Kweli and Big L.
