Aroma, a 48-year-old man from Anambra state, was the quickest to answer the fastest finger segment — a segment where the contestants have to answer a question to proceed to the WWTBAM ‘hot seat’ — to qualify for the actual contest.
Chimunya Aroma, who is a graduate of Geography at the University of Nigeria Nnsuka, answered all the questions correctly and confidently until the 14th question, where he used his first lifeline, asking the audience for the answer in order to confirm the answer which was also his choice he used the 50/50 option.
Getting to the final question, Aroma was asked which category Professor Maathai Wangari won the Nobel Prize for. Not knowing the answer, he made use of the “Phone a Friend” lifeline but had issues having a clear conversation with his friend despite repeating the question several times.
He had to ask the host, Frank Edoho to repeat what his friend said – to which frank replied ‘Peace’. He accepted his friend’s advice, bagging the Cash prize of 10 Million Naira.
This made him the the first top prize winner on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM) show, a feat that has not been attained from inception of the show till this present day.
The Who wants to be a Millionaire Show was discontinued on the 25th of June 2017, after airing for thirteen years.
However, the producers of the show promised that the educating game show will be returning to the screen.Â
