Another fact that critics often neglect is that the models help in marketing and selling products of leading brands. Take the case of Gisele Bundchen, who once again became top earner, earning millions from lucrative beauty and fragrance deals with Chanel and Carolina Herrera .
At the helm of the Brazilian supermodel are her compatriot Adriana Lima and British model Cara Delevingne. In the list compiled by the prestigious Forbes Magazine there are also young models such as Candice Swanepoel and Karlie Kloss. Gisele Bundchen – $44 million
Such is Gisele’s presence in the market and popularity that despite rumors of her retirement and eventual retirement, she still earned more than $35 million than those who rank second on this list. You can get an idea of how popular Cara is. Delevingne made her debut in the highest paid model rankings in 2014 and within a year had climbed to the second position. Within a year, her income tripled from $3.5 million to $9 million. Her position in this list is due to the busy and eventful year Cara has had as a model and actress. The British model has appeared in fashion campaigns for 13 different brands, including appearances in key ads for DKNY, Burberry and Topshop. She has also maintained her lucrative deal with famous brand Yves Saint Laurent .
That year also saw the 23-year-old model make her starring role debut in the film Paper Towns, which was a commercial success. Cara made her big screen debut with a supporting role in the 2012 film adaptation of ‘Anna Karenina.’ Cara will soon be starring in two highly anticipated films – ‘London Fields’, which is based on Martin Amis’ novel starring Johnny Depp. Pan’ with Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried and as the Sorceress in ‘Suicide Squad’ with Will Smith and Jared Leto. Her strong social media presence will only help her in her future endeavors. Sharing geeky and beautiful snaps on Instagram has helped her gain around 19.7 million followers.

This ended an almost 10-year collaboration, including six years as a contract angel. However, the decision to sever ties with the brand, which has been a massive contributor to the Dutch model’s popularity over the years, won’t matter much as her hot promotion for Calvin Klein has ensured her all the attention and the retains space in male fantasies. The 30-year-old model is believed to be the first model to appear on the cover of four international Vogue issues in one month. In fact, it appeared on the cover of nine issues of the magazine in 2013. The lucrative L’Oréal cosmetics contract is a major contributor to their total annual income of $7.5 million. She is also the face of Tiffany & Co. and has a starring role in the Samsung campaign in her home country. She has 3.4 million followers on Instagram, where she regularly promotes her line of cashmere sweaters.

Natalia Vodianova is one of the most inspirationalmodels in the fashion industry. Unlike many other models in this list, Natalia had a poor and difficult childhood. Her father left the family when she was a toddler, and as a result, the whole burden of raising Natalia and her two half-sisters, Kristina and Oksana, one of whom suffers from cerebral palsy, fell on her mother. As a teenager, she helped her mother sell fruit on the street. She later started her own fruit stand with her friend to help ease her family’s financial difficulties. Her annual income of $5.5 million is a little down from 2014 ($7 million), but she’s found love with billionaire Evan Spiegel, co-founder and CEO of Snapchat. So she wouldn’t mind if her earnings plummeted.
Being the face of Escada Joyful Fragrance, Swarovski jewelry and Clear Hair Care products have helped her maintain her status as one of the highest paid models. Another source of income for Miranda is the cosmetic line Kora Organics, which she launched in 2009. She also fattened her handbag with support for Royal Albert teacups. With 7.1 million Instagram followers, 4 million Twitter followers and 7.4 million Facebook fans, she has enough exposure to keep channels open for lucrative endorsements and advertising campaigns.

Joan Smalls – $5.5 million
The stunning Puerto Rican model holds the honor of being the first Latina Ambassador for Estée Lauder, which she received when she signed a deal with the cosmetics giant in 2011. She is also the first Puerto Rican model to be chosen to front the advertising campaign of prestigious brands such as Gucci, Givenchy , Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein Jeans and Mercedes Benz. Smalls had a busy year as she increased her earnings from $3 million in 2014 to $5.5 million this year. She was one of the main attractions at the last Victoria’s Secret show. She also appeared in the Pirelli calendar and cover of the September 2014 issue of American Vogue.
It was a successful year for Smalls as it retained lucrative Estée Lauder and H&M deals and added several new brands to its catalogue, including ads featuring Joe Fresh, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs.

Lara Stone, the Dutch English model, was first spotted at the age of 12 on the Paris subway while on holiday with her family. At the age of 15, she entered the 1999 Elite Model Look contest. Though she didn’t win the competition, she did enough to impress elite executives and win a professional contract. Since then she has carved her own niche in the fashion industry. The second highest paid Dutch model has opened shows for Giles Deacon, Isabel Marant, Christopher Kane, Fendi and MaxMara and closed for Chanel, Diesel, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Balmain. Also, she was “semi-exclusive” to Prada, meaning she couldn’t walk for any other fashion brand during New York Fashion Week or in Milan before the Prada show.
Part of her $5 million income comes from makingL’Oréal signed a cosmetics deal and recently inked a deal with Calvin Klein for lingerie and a fashion campaign for perfumes Stella McCartney and Tom Ford. She also earns from Barneys and Kurt Geiger ads.

The 34-year-old Brazilian model recently made her acting debut with the steamy Brazilian soap opera Verdades Secretas (Secrets and Lies), which has already garnered a lot of attention for some passionate and sensual love scenes. However, the majority of her $5 million in earnings came from her lucrative contract as one of the famous Victoria’s Secret Angels. Alessandra is also pocketing earnings from clothing sales from her own swimwear line and a joint clothing line with Planet Blue. Also, she has lucrative protection and dafiti contracts, which further improves her bank balance.

Candice Swanepoel’s income of $5 million managed to almost double the 2014’s $3 million total. However, it won’t upset the South African model that was first spotted at flea markets. Like Alessandra Ambrosio, most of her income comes from the lucrative secret deal with Victoria. Her other sources of income include Max Factor makeup deal and Versace fragrance deal. She supplements her income with ads for Free People and Givenchy, among others.

Although it’s no longer a Victoria Secret on Angel, Karlie Kloss has had enough lucrative deals and ad campaigns to make $5 million. Her portfolio includes deals with L’Oréal, Joe Fresh and Kate Spade. Her other lucrative appearances include a perfume deal as the face of the Chanel Coco Noir fragrance. She also partnered with the Flatiron School to create a Kode With Karlie scholarship for young female coders.
