When Wizkid announced the release of his(Wizkid’s) fifth studio album, ‘More Love Less Ego’ little did we know that he meant every word in the album’s title.
According to him, “More Love Less Ego” will be put out on the last day of his ‘Made In Lagos’ tour, which is January 22, 2022.
“1 year already! Thank you for riding with me. I’m just very grateful for all the love and blessings. Promised not to make you wait too long for the next one. ‘More Love Less Ego’ dropping on the last day of the tour!”, he wrote on Instagram.
However, you will remember last week that Wizkid settled an age-long beef between him and Northboi. He previously worked with Wizkid on records like ‘Soco’ and ‘Ghetto Love’ and was seen working with the superstar in a viral video. In the video, Wizkid said, ‘More Love, Less Ego,’ the album on the way. I’m here with my brother for real. We’re back baby… Northboi (laughs)…”
Without a doubt, since the beef with Wizkid, Northboi’sn career has been in a tailspin. What appears like a new dawn for him was when Wizkid, the Machala himself announced More Love Less Ego, he did mention that he was ready to kill all previous beef and rivalries.
Another interesting thing we got lately aside from this talk of Wizkid’s More Love Less Ego album is that the internet has been set ablaze as Wizkid and Davido on Friday night hugged each other in Quilox, a nightclub in Lagos after years of being on the fence.
What to expect from Wizkid’s ‘More Love Less Ego’ album
With this, what you should be expecting from the album ‘More Love Less Ego’ is the true meaning of love and the essence of love in hard times like this.
The album is coming at a time the fumes of ‘Made In Lagos’ which is the longest-charting African album of all time and the album also has the first African song (ESSENCE) to ever go platinum in the United States of America.
Wizkid’s ‘More Love, Less Ego’ carries a theme of love, reconciliation and probably romance which has always been the theme of his music. Although I have no certainty that Burna Boy will be on the next album, I do believe Davido will find a way in that album.
More so, I strongly believe Wizkid will pack a few American folks in the album too as he is currently enjoying getting an opening and full acceptance of his sound in America.
In the Rolling Stone Musician on Musician interview with Damian Marley, the two seem like they will work together again. Wouldn’t be surprised if Wizkid recruits Damian Marley for another record.
However, nobody is certain if Tems and Wizkid will try to recreate another Essence. I truly don’t think so but wouldn’t be surprised to hear Wizkid on Tems next album, though.
All we know currently is that the world of music is expecting another ‘Made in Lagos’ uproar from this Wizkid More Love Less Ego album
