Grammy-winning Afrobeats sensation Wizkid has revealed that football could have been his alternate career if music hadn’t panned out.

The Nigerian superstar spoke about his passion for the sport and his respect for the dedication needed to excel in football.

Having played on his school’s football team, Wizkid admitted that his impatience and aversion to early morning training sessions ultimately steered him towards a career in music.

“If I wasn’t doing music, I would be playing football, I play football real good, I used to be in my school team”, he said.

Despite his shift to music, Wizkid maintains a deep respect for football and its demands.

He also revealed his unique approach to security, choosing not to travel with bodyguards and instead relying on his close-knit management team, whom he regards as family.
