Wizkid Bags Three Awards At The 2021 AFRIMA Award.

Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid as bagged Three Awards at the 2021 AFRIMA Award, making him the most awarded artist in the history of the Award.

The singer who was nominated in six categories won just three categories. He won the Song of the year and the collaboration of the year, alongside Tems. He also won the artist of the year.

As earlier stated Wizkid is the most awarded artiste in the history of Afrima awards, The singer won 1 in 2016,  3 in 2017,  1 in 2019 and another 3 in the recent edition making a total of eight. 

The event was held on Sunday, November 21 in Lagos, and among the top winners is Iba One, a Malian rapper, who won the ‘Best Male Artiste in Western Africa’.

The lyricist also claimed the categories ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Best Artiste, Duo, or Group in African Pop’, ‘Best Male Artiste in African Inspirational Music’, and ‘Songwriter of the Year.

Another Nigeria Singer, Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as FireBoy also won two awards: the African Fans’ Favourite and Best Duo African Hip hop award alongside Cheque.

He gave recognition to top music act, Olamide, during his acceptance speech, for the support he, Olamide, gave to his music career.

Legendary Beatz won the Best Producer of The Year, while Flavour won the Best Artiste or Duo in African Dance or Choreography alongside Diamond Platnumz and Fally Ipupa.

The event, hosted by Eddie Kadi and Pearl Thusi, witnessed performances from Patoranking, Chike, Olakira, D’banj among others.
