Wizkid Announces New Music

Nigerian international superstar, Wizkid has announced his new music and he seems unbothered by the ongoing drama about the new and old cats in the music industry.

Wizkid chose not to comment or throw shades as he took to his social media timeline to reveal that he’s dropping a new song soon. Wizkid’s unbothered nature is not new as he hardly replies to controversial news.

Wizkid’s comment section is on fire as fans have begun to react to his latest announcement. One of his fans said “Popsy no send una papa”

Recall that the drama started on Thursday, June 8, after DMW label boss Davido in an interview, described Grammy Award winner Burna Boy as a new cat while placing him in the same category with Fireboy DML, Asake and Rema.

Davido in his interview had said that he and the Nigerian International Star and Starboy label boss Wizkid had set the pace for the future of  Nigeria’s Afro-beat music. Davido made some comments about his fellow Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, that have caused some controversy. He referred to him as “new cats” and said that he and Wizkid blew up before him.

Davido’s comments come at a time when Burna Boy is enjoying a lot of success. He won a Grammy Award for his album “African Giant” and is currently on tour. Some people have interpreted Davido’s comments as a diss to Burna Boy and others.

However, Davido has since clarified that he was not trying to start beef but simply stating a fact. “I’m not trying to start beef with anyone,” Davido said. “I’m just saying that I’ve been in the game for a long time and I’ve been through a lot. I’m not a new cat.”

Only time will tell how Davido’s comments will affect his relationship with Burna Boy and others. However, one thing is for sure: the Nigerian music industry is definitely more interesting now that Davido is back in the spotlight.
