You won’t go hungry if you continue to dedicate yourself to interpretation, because it points out ways. At 11 years old, Willow Shields plays the little sister of the protagonist of The Hunger Games , a blockbuster that has devoured the box office.

Born on June 1, 2000 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Willow Shields was destined to have a normal, anonymous childhood, until one day her older brother, River Shields, told her parents that he wanted to be an actor. Little Willow was seven years old, but both she and her twin sister, Autumn Shields, decided to give it a try too. The three managed to be chosen for various projects.

Specifically, Willow provided her voice in the short Las Vegas New Mexico 1875 , a tribute to the classic western. She soon after she played small roles in the series In the open , and the telefilm Beyond the Blackboard . At her young age, she had in mind to read The Hunger Games., the novel by Suzanne Collins, because her mother and brothers were real fans. After going to the casting for the film adaptation, and despite her inexperience (she had never worked for the big screen), she got the small but important role she aspired to. She plays Prim (Primrose Everdeen), the little sister of the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen – a character from Lawrence ‘s character- . The latter sacrifices herself for her by entering her place in a deadly competition.

From the filming he remembers a special affinity with his sister in fiction. “We’ve spent a lot of time together on set, which helped our on-screen relationship,” explains the young Willow. “She gave me good advice, because she told me at all times to be myself, no matter how successful the tape was. She insisted that I not change even if I continue to dedicate myself to this.”

What will happen in the future? At the moment, the little girl is clear that she wants to continue in the cinema. “Now I’m reading a lot of scripts, although I only think about being free to shoot the next part of The Hunger Games,” says the actress, whose character gains in importance in the other two installments.

An excellent student (schooled at home), who stands out in history and literature, Willow Shields lives in her hometown where she is surrounded by animals, as her parents are great nature lovers – the fact that her children are named River ( river), Autumn (autumn) and Willow (willow)–. The little girl has dogs and chickens as pets. She spends much of her spare time painting.
