why yoruba teachers curse during classes

Oh, so you have also been wondering Why Yoruba Teachers always curse during classes? Well, welcome to the table – you are not alone.

While this topic may be unpopular amongst those who attended private schools, nearly every person who went to public schools would find this familiar.

Maybe not directly as the victim of the curse but as a witness, sharing the same space wherein the mighty transcended.

In the manner of all reasoning, whether religious, moral, or ethical, this is wrong.

However, this wouldn’t be up for debate in this article — may be in the next,

Following a series of samples taken from a number of public school students, we found that this trait is common among Yoruba teachers.

Given this fact, the RNN Team decided to take a survey and observe the reasons why this is so.

Based on our discovery, we shall be sharing with you what we found out right in this article. Stay tuned.

Before we proceed, for the sake of those who are “inexperienced” in this field, let’s recount some memories, shall we?

Imagine a situation where you, being a saint, ignorantly offends your Yoruba mum at the ‘wrong time’.

If you are lucky not to receive a slap, then you should hear one or two not very pleasant things about yourself.

Much worse, if you have loopholes or previous bad records before offending her, just take a seat and get ready to be slain.

There you have it. This is the relationship Yoruba Teachers share with curses.

Now, let’s look at the reasons why Yoruba Teachers curse during classes.

Reasons Yoruba Teachers Curse During Classes.

In the series of surveys conducted by the RNN Team, it was discovered that Yoruba Teachers share the most knowledge about the culture and traditions of Yorubaland.

Thus, they feel somewhat pre-empt unlikely and disrespectful behavior from students.

And it happens, they just go blah blah… tongue lashing you.

Understand that the anger is never towards you but the expectation that the unruly behavior wouldn’t have existed if not for civilization.

That’s why you will see some Yoruba teachers, who are nice enough, teaching you history on culture when you misbehave.

Truth be told, most Yoruba Teachers hate civilization and other modern-day culture.

However, we can’t totally blame them. This is largely due to the numerous literature and history they have read — one which proposes that we would be better off if we were not colonized or civilized.

The Yoruba Culture highly values honor and this can be portrayed in several ways, even the least expected scenario.

For instance, a Yoruba man doesn’t expect you to talk back when you are being corrected.

This includes the times that you are right. Even if your intentions are to make them aware.

Unlike the modern-day culture where you enjoy this freedom, Yorubas who understand culture perceive it as disregard.

Also, never make it obvious that you’re knowledgeable than a Yoruba teacher (even if it’s true), they will finish you.

But coming to think of it, do you also think that our culture is losing its value?

Or you think it’s the Oldies that have to step up their game?

Let’s hear your opinion in the comment section.
