Nnamdi Kanu is enjoying full luxury at our facility, not maltreated -DSS proclaims

Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest came in a period when the Nigerian government is facing a wide backlash from its citizens for the quagmire the country is going through. And for the recent suspension of the popular microblogging platform, Twitter.

For a topic like this, why the Nigerian government should be applauded for arresting Nnamdi Kanu, is no doubt not sitting right in the minds of most Nigerians.

The bitter truth is, they worth it this time. Well, I’m not saying asking for self-determination is illegitimate. It is a fundamental right of everybody to separate from a group that is choking their lives.

However, the likes of Nnamdi Kanu are seeking secession in a bitter way, he based it on lies, hate, weary propaganda that is nevertheless to the detriment of innocent Nigerians.

He crowned himself, the ‘Supreme Leader’ of the secessionist group, making them worship him (there are pictures of people licking his foot).

Nnamdi Kanu is already fighting the whole country aside from the region(Biafra) he is fighting for. The painful thing is, this same hate is what is in the minds of his followers.

They see those who criticise them as a threat, describe critics as ewu, meaning goat, slaves all sort of names. The reality is, you can not build freedom with hate, rather love and make others sympathise with you.

However, this is not to say I join hands with those abobakus, licking the laps of tyranny, by supporting his re-arrest with full might. This, more so, is not to clap hands for a regime that consistently attacks peaceful protesters, clamp down on the key fundamental human right.

Apparently, I can say that the Buhari government made Nnamdi Kanu a bitter fellow.  You will recall that in the formation years of the peaceful IPOB group, in the name of crocodile smile and python dance the Buhari government quench the agitation with force, subject them to inhumane treatment.

More so, his father’s house was razed, so he had no choice but to run out of the country for fear of his life. The Buhari government needs to learn to tolerate protesters. This is obvious in how they treat the #EndSARS protesters who are demanding an end to brutality from the armed forces generally.

They should, however, be commended for apprehending Nnamdi Kanu, who poses a great threat to the peace of citizens, especially those living close to the east and south.
