Who is Korra Obidi? (Everything we know about her Marital Crisis)

Korra Obidi is a Nigerian Singer,  dancer, and internet personality, she was recently in the news after her White American husband, Justin Dean took to Instagram to announce their divorce.

Justin, who is a Performance Therapist and Chiropractor revealed some of the family marital issues, publicly stating that he was no longer happy with his marriage to Obidi.

“Korra Obidi and I are getting a divorce. It’s over! I won’t be treated this way longer. I did my absolute best to make it work.”

“I didn’t want this. I did my best. My heartbroken. I supported her. I loved her. I don’t deserve the way I was treated,” Dean wrote on social media post, which has now been deleted.

The announcement was met with unbelief with many believing it was a prank in his comment section He, however, confirmed it wasn’t a prank when he shared an InstaStory saying, “Not a joke.

In another post, Justin alleged that Korra is cheating on him and made him a ‘prisoner’ in his family.

He wrote, “I’m tired of the narcissism, cheating, and lack of accountability. I’ve been trying since 2018 to save our marriage and if I don’t do exactly what she says, she divorces me. I’ve been a prisoner that has his family used against him if she doesn’t get exactly what she wants”.

A live video of the couple in an altercation was captured showing a seemingly tired and frustrated Justin.

It is important to note that the couple welcomed their second child a week ago and all seemed well with the couple until the recent social media accusations.

How they met

Korra Obidi met Justin in China on Tinder. Korra was teaching language through dance in Shanghai, China at the time while Justin worked as a sports therapist for the Chinese National Olympics Team.

They wedded in December 2017 and welcomed their first child June in July 2019. The couple both live in Los Angeles, USA.

Who is Korra Obidi

Korra Obidi was born on the 23rd of June, 1994 in Oshimili North of Delta State in Nigeria, and was raised in the church alongside her two siblings.  She attended Command Secondary School, Ojo Lagos before proceeding to the University of Lagos to study Business Education.

She began her career in the Nigerian entertainment industry as a singer in 2011 and has since then ventured into other categories in the industry.

In 2017 she toured as an independent artist with the African basketball league in several African countries and performed alongside Walid Atallah at the Ladies A’la Mode in Muscat, Oman, and the Burj Al Arab, Dubai as the only black act representing women of color.

She became famous in 2019 when she auditioned for the popular American reality dance show, “So You Think You Can Dance”, while she was six months pregnant. She was the first pregnant woman to ever audition for the show.

How Korra reacted to the allegations

Reacting to Justin’s accusations in a new post on social media, Korra Obidi revealed that she was fully committed to taking care of her newborn baby and herself.

The new mum in a post on her Instagram page thanked her fans for their support in this trying time. She noted that she’s committed to taking care of herself at the moment for the sake of her newborn baby ‘Athena’.

She said: “So, I’m going to be 100% committed to taking care of my newborn and myself.

“When mama is good, the baby is good, thank you all for reaching out and everything, I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without your support.

“I hope that me finding the strength to come up here will make you happy.”
