Who is Annie Idibia without 2Face?

Nigeria’s iconic singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2face, recently announced his divorce  from his long time patner Annie Idibia. This divorce has generated a lot of controversy and buzz online, as Tu baba is popularly known for his series of infedility, during his marriage and relationship with annie.

The Nigerian celebrity celebrity couples,  got married in 2012 and had two daughters together. However announcing the divorce on   on Instagram, 2face said they had been separated for some time and had taken steps toward a divorce. The post was later deleted but he then released a video to confirm that its contents were accurate.

The couple has through a series of marital woes in the 13 years of their marriage, all of which have always made news headlines and generated buzz over social media, with many people advising Annie to leave the marriage.

2face or 2baba he is now called is considered one of the most influential nigeria singers  and  the pioneers of the modern day Nigerian music scene that is now popular around the world, paving the way for musicians like Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy. Annie on the hand has always been known as the wife  of the music superstar, despite having a budding career as an actress and televison personality in her early years.

So back to the question? who is Annie Idibia without 2face?

Before 2face…

According to wikipedia, Anniewas born in Ibadan, but  originally a native of Akwa Ibom State. She moved to Lagos State with her mother after the divorce of her parents. She holds a degree in Computer Science and Theatre Arts after completing undergraduate courses at Lagos State University and the University of Lagos respectively.

Annie was also a model, who competed at the “Queen of All Nations Beauty Pageant” where she was placed as a runners-up. She went on to feature in a cameo appearance on the music video of 2face global hit song  “African Queen” . According to news report, the estranged couple relationship began at that point.

Aside from this, Annie also had a successful career as a nollyhwood actress, featuring as a lead charcter in numerous movies such as  Pleasure and Crime and Blackberry Babes, Unconditional among others. She was nominated in the “Best Supporting Actress” category at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards.

Additionally, she was recently featured alongside her estranged husband Innocent “2Baba” Idibia in the  Netflix African reality series Young, Famous & African, which premiered in 2022. The series also included other African personalities like Diamond Platnumz, Naked DJ, Nadia Nakai, Swanky Jerry, Andile Ncube, and Kayleigh Schwark

With 2face…

Annie, despite all her career archivement, has been known as nothing short of the enduring wife of 2baba, as the singer is always involved in form of infedility or the other. The singer is popularly known for having 7 children for  three different women including annie.

Barely two years and a few months into their marriage, 2baba, also known as 2face, was caught on camera kissing his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi. According to the report, Annie allegedly stormed the club but was diverted by the club’s management into a room where she was told her husband would join her shortly. She was then locked in the room for the period and was given access to leave after Pero and 2baba ended their meeting.

In recent years, Annie has been acting paranoid all over Instagram and social media platforms over her marriage with 2 baba. In September 2021, she called out 2face over his relationship with Pero with several posts on her Instagram page. Two months after, she apologized to her family for her public meltdown.

In 2022, In the series, ‘Young, Famous and African‘, Annie expressed her feelings about the philandering activities of 2face. She spoke about the many humiliations and embarrassment she had faced.

In light of the dirvorce, which is belived to have been initiated by 2face, fans, lovers and supporters of Annie, have expressed  their anger frustration and opinion on social media, balming Annie for putting with his infediity through out their 13 years marriage.
