Wendy Hughes was considered one of the most renowned Australian actresses. She became known to moviegoers around the world as the diffident lead in “Lonely Heart.” The interpreter she died on March 8, 2014, at the age of 61 as a result of cancer, in Sydney.

Born in Melbourne on July 29, 1952, Wendy Ann Hughes originally had the dream of being a dancer as a child, but changed her mind as a teenager. She eventually studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.

He began to acquire tables with the Classical Theater Company of his hometown. After various roles in series, she made her film debut in 1974 with Petersen , a drama where she shared the lead with the now established Jacki Weaver .

After numerous jobs, Wendy Hughes gained international notoriety as the lead actress in Dutch Australian director Paul Cox ‘s Lonely Hearts , which would make her her favorite actress. She played an extremely shy bank teller who met a middle-aged pianist through a marriage agency.

She later played the owner of a brothel in Velvet Legs, a woman who takes in a mysterious young woman in Princess Caraboo , and a woman who ends up in a Japanese concentration camp during World War II in Road to Paradise , alongside Glenn Close , Cate Blanchett , and Frances McDormand .

After having a son with restaurateur Patrick Juillet, and a daughter with British actor Chris Haywood , she got together with fellow performer Sean Scully, but they eventually separated.
