Wemabod, a real estate corporation, has pledged dedication to promoting the real estate sector while planning events to mark its 60th anniversary.
“Innovative cooperation and financing for sustainable real estate development in Nigeria” is the theme of the event.
In collaboration with Ikoyi Club 1938, the organization kicked off the jubilee celebrations on October 17 with a weeklong tennis competition.
the commissioning of the recently finished luxury residential property at Ikoyi Crescent on November 1, 2022, and the gala night grand finale recently. All three events took place in Surulere.
Following the introductory remarks by Otunba Oluseyi Oduntan, Board Chairman of Wemabod, Group Chairman of Odua Investment Company Limited, Mr. Bimbo Ashiru delivered a message of goodwill.
“The brand Wemabod has throughout the years undergone series of re-positioning, innovative rebranding, and expansion in line with unique strategic imperatives to build upon the property portfolio that was inherited from the defunct Western Nigeria Marketing Board,” Ashiru added.
“The creation of roads in virgin areas, enables people to travel there, which implies infrastructure is crucial as a fundamental driver of real estate,” stated the keynote speaker, Dr. Abiodun Adedipe.

The Chief Executive Officer, of Ezimia Realty Co. Limited, said, “Our economy is based on short-term funds, he maintained real estate funding must thus be creative, that there’s no real estate without real estate financing. He noted that as an apostle of collaboration, he called for pensions funds to be invested in real estate.”
Folashade Hughes, a former founding chief executive officer of Briscoe Properties, remarked that population or demographics are important real estate drivers and that attention should also be paid to wealth management literacy, sustainability, and ideas on virtual real estate.
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the executive governor of Ondo State, urged Wemabod’s administration and personnel to construct more housing for occupants in his message of goodwill.
Akeredolu praised the 60-year-old real estate tycoon for its numerous achievements nationwide in terms of establishing and upholding the goal of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his governance team, who founded the organization 60 years ago.
