In this article, we will discuss ways of gaining admission without JAMB. Since the inception of it, candidates have always complained of failure and not been admitted; this as a result of failure from the candidates’ angle or universities administrations. Moreover, most candidates are not aware of alternatives aside this board and keep rewriting it.

Moreso, candidates who pass JAMB will still face Post UTME and may not be admitted. With this, we will discuss ways with which you can gain admission without sitting for JAMB. However, you should treat these alternatives as a choice because they aren’t mandatory.

How to Gain  Admission Without JAMB

  • IJMB/ JUPEB A’LEVEL

Interim Joint Matriculation Board(IJMB) and Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board(JUPEB) are A’level examinations that qualify students to gain admission into 200level without JAMB. Moreso, these programmes are moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the University of Lagos respectively; they have different coordinating bodies in various tertiary institutions and learning centres across the country.

Furthermore, the programmes are regulated by the Federal Government to serve as alternative platforms for securing admission. You must take note that the result is accepted by all categories of universities in Nigeria. In addition, you can apply for these programmes with or without five(5) credit in O’level. When you apply for the nine months program, you can sit for another O’level exam. Moreso, you are entitled to accommodation for the period.

  • National Open University of Nigeria

Since its inception in 2002, National Open University(NOUN) has been admitting applicants easily without JAMB. The university has been admitting students who may be engaged in activities or students of age. Most especially students who are tired of writing JAMB repeatedly. It gives them the opportunity to study or schooling without quitting their jobs.

The success stories of the university are widely known; however, many complain that it has not been able to produce graduates for NYSC. The management has openly stated that soon they will start enrolling graduates for service.

  • Cambridge A’ level Programme

Cambridge International  A’ Level the programme is recognised around the world by schools, universities and employers. The qualifications are accepted as proof of academic ability for entry to universities worldwide;  the program typically takes two years to complete and offer a flexible course of study that gives students the freedom to select subjects that are right for them. One of the beautiful ways you can avoid continuously involvement in writing JAMB is to study abroad; there are different universities abroad that accept Nigeria O’level result. Although we cannot guarantee their tuition fee, most of them are always expensive. However, we can guarantee that you will gain admission easily in foreign universities.
