He worked as the host of the daytime talk show The Wayne Brady Show, the original host of Don’t Forget the Lyrics! From Fox. He has been married twice in his life. He was married to Diana Lasso from 1993 to 1995. He married Mandie Taketa on April 3, 1999. The couple have one named Maile Masako Brady, born February 3, 2003. They separated on April 5, 2006, and Taketa filed for divorce on July 2, 2007.
Early life and career of Wayne Brady
Wayne was born on June 2, 1972 in Columbus, Georgia. He is an American belonging to the African American ethnicity. He was raised by his grandmother in Florida.
He began acting at the young age of 16, performing in community theater and at the SAK Comedy Lab. Before enrolling in the University of Miami, he studied at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando.
Wayne’s career debut was in the British improv theater version of the show Whose Line Is It Anyway? in 1998. She won a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance on the show in 2003.
His next effort was hosting his own show The Wayne Brady Show from 2001 to 2003. For this as well, Brady won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
Brady played the role of lawyer Billy Flynn in the 2004 Broadway revival of Chicago. He has guest-starred on Reno 911!, Stargate SG-1, and Chappelle’s Show as well.
