Wanda Ileen Barzee aka wanda barzee (born November 6, 1945) is a United States citizen from Salt Lake City, Utah. Barzee with her husband ” Brian Mitchell ” kidnapped Elizabeth Smart and kidnapped her for nine months. On June 5, 2002, when Smart was 14 years old, she was captured at her home in Federal Heights. In fact, her younger sister “Mary Katherine” also witnessed the incident but pretended to be asleep.
Also, Wanda and Mitchell kept her in the woods of Salt Lake and later left for San Diego County, California. During this period, Elizabeth was raped several times. In fact, she was tortured by Barzee and even given garbage to eat. Brian called himself a religious preacher.
On March 12, 2003, Mitchell and his wife were recognized by a couple. They had seen his photos on the television news. They were wandering the streets of Sandy, Utah.
