Wahbi Khazri (Arabic: وهبي خزري ), born February 8, 1991 in Ajaccio (France), is a Tunisian international footballer . He is an attacking player with the Carthage Eagles, the Tunisian national team. Currently, he is also playing as an attacking midfielder or striker at AS Saint-Étienne.
He began his career in France with the club SC Bastia from 2008 to 2014. He continued to play in France from 2014 to 2016 with the club Girondins de Bordeaux. He was transferred in 2016 from France to England at Sunderland AFC. To return to France, loaned to Stade Rennes FC for the 2017-2018 season, before moving to AS Saint-Étienne for 7 million euros.
He was cahosen to play for the Tunisia team since 2012. He was selected by Sami Trabelsi for the CAN 2013 and scored his first goal on March 23, 2013. He was selected by Georges Leekens for the CAN 2015 and he does not scores no goals. He was chosen captain of the Carthage Eagles during the 2018 World Cup. He is the first Tunisian player to score twice in a row in the World Cup during the match against Belgium and Panama.
